College campus and staff locality where it is situated
You will get all departments with proper facilities
All teachers and staff are supportive and caring

Dislikes

Mechanical lab should be more equipped and modern
CAD classes syllabus should be improved like need to add some more drawing in their syllabus
First language should be English so that no problem will occur for non Bengali students

Courses syllabus should be improve like there specially in engineering drawing section and in CNC programming section I think there are some limited syllabus in both section which are being repeat for each batch

College provide summer vacation internship at there nearest company like Exide , also if you want to select company which you like to do internship you can go by themselves.. my team mates and I was there in damodar valley corporation for our internship

Campus placement offers from 6th semester I think.. college management should approach core company like civil mechanical and electrical not should only focus on It compines like tcs and tech Mahindra

Fees and Financial Aid

I think there are a different category of students are in India like poor class middle and upper class..so management should consider all these things towards there fee structure so that all students can easily get educated with out any extra financial burden. So management should hike in extreme conditions only

Campus Life

JIS organize fresher party which is good I think so that students should know each other very well and also they should not hesitate to perform in crowd and face people confidently. Library is good enough almost all study materials are available. College is also good in conducting extra curriculum activity.

Admission

Admission process is not very hard I think it's fair enough.. there are many way to get admitted like JEE, west bengal state examination and lateral entry also.. reservation for management quota should be eliminated

Faculty

I think faculty members should improve themselves in language..they should prefer English instead of Bengali..also college management should hire more active and young professionals.... faculty should be atleast of M.tech background

Placement Experience:

From Third semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies like P360, EY, Deloitte, Tech Mahindra, Neutanix, BinaryWorks and few more visited our college for placements and mostly 15 to 20 offers were made Highest package was around 5 to 6 lpa 50% students were placed I am now preparing for govt jobs and side by side also applying for offcampuses. I have also given CUET for pursuing M. Tech

Placement Experience:

Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

A GOOD COLLEGE WITH GOOD PLACEMENT , SPORTS FACILITY.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 7th sem. The names of comanies visited are TCS, Infosys, Capegimini,Tech mahindra etc. Some students Got 2 offer laters . Highest packages last year was 47 LPA (off Campus) 27LPA ( on campus). Average pakage was 5-6Lpa. The job role is Software Development. Percentage of Students Got placement is 92-95% In my Deoartment. Other is Around 70_90%. My plans to take placement from product based company.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

I choose this college because this college was good in among all the average colleges in West Bengal leaving the top colleges. The placement is also good. So for all this reason I choose this college. I wanted to go for heritage but my name didn't came in cutoff.
