What Students Say

Likes

Professors are friendly, approachable, they really kind and one of a kind people
Labs are up to date, monitors have decent screens and wireless mouse
Good library system, students find it easy to issue books

Dislikes

Some computers run on windows 8 which is pretty annoying to use
Not much practical exposure to subjects that should be taught practically
Some professors are boring specially the computer architecture and compiler design teachers

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is no doubt good but it is kind of back dated. This applies to the whole makaut syllabus and hence all makaut colleges. The syllabus should contain more modern topics that require more practical exposure.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 400000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There's vast amount of opportunities for internship. That's a separate topic that I applied for none but there IS vast amount of opportunities for internship. Companies like Persistent, Celebal and oasis offer internships throughout the season.

Placement Experience

We became eligible for campus placements few days before appearing for our 6th semester examinations. Many companies came in our college. I applied to many but got rejected. Now I have given interview in TCS on campuss and I also have an upcoming EY interview.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for this course is roughly around 4.5 lakhs. They have separate fees for library and sports because of which students can avail these features on a monthly basis. The college has ample opportunities for internship which can cover up the costs.

Campus Life

There many clubs in the college - Phoenix being the most popular coding club. Many fests are held like Inceptra for the IT department. This year avenir was held. And my favorite one is mesmerizer - the fest that brings in every department of NSEC

Admission

The admission process was smooth enough. Candidates are required to carry 10th and 12th class marksheets along with PAN and AADHAR cards and their photocopies. I got into this college through WBJEE counselling and upgradation.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty to student ratio is roughly 1:58. The faculty is really very nice and kind to students. However there are some strict teachers but they teach REALLY very well. There is this one professor everyone was afraid of but I never missed a single class as he taught really well. They are technologically advanced and leave no topic untouched. They are approachable as they are so friendly to students.

Placement Experience:

From 4th year students become eligible for placements.Google, Microsoft,Gold Man Sacks, Apple were some of the companies that visited NIT Durgapur For placement regard.The highest package was 80lpa and the average package was 13 lpa.Total of 83% students got placed.The placement is quite good.

our college average package is 600000 per Anum and highest package is 1800000 per Anum according to recent data. and 80% of student got placed . And wipro , windows, tcs , siemens , tata like companies come to our college for placement. Core students are also got placed but many of them goes for hihger studies.

In case of my couse everything is coverd but it would have been much better of they focus on practicals more rather than theory. If they make us aware of all the new technologies that are used in the industry.

My experience about techno

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd year onwards , students become eligible for internships and stepping in 4th yr , students get eligible for campus placement. Techno provides decent campus placements according to your marks. Good marks also with skills get you better salary. Minimum 7.5 cgpa is mandatory to have you sit for campus placements. The lowest package is 3.4 LPA and highest vary but students also get 14LPA easily. Wipro, tcs ,cap ,gemini, amazon , ibm etc.

Placement Experience:

Elegibility for placement-Generally students become elligible for campus placement in their 7th semester or 8th semester and there might be some prerequisties such as minimum CGPA must be 6-7 with no bachlogs Internship and pre-placement offers-many companies offer internships during the 6th semester or 7th semester and successful interns may receive pre-placement offers if their performance is good. Companies that visits campus: TCS Accenture Cognizent Infosys Wipro Capgemini Deloite Byjus Tech Mahindra Placement Percentage-On average 80%-90% of students may secure jobs through campus placements.However this numbers could vary across different departments and specialization Highest and average package-The highest salary offered at Techno India University was 24 LPA and the average salary was 4-5 LPA. Plans after getting the degree: My plans depends on placement.If I get a job of around 15 LPA then I will not do master degree and if I get job of around 4-5 LPA then I will do master for further great opportunities

Things you should know before taking admission in NSEC

Others college which i got confirmed is RIT /quantum and haridwar university but i didn't go there because it was very far from my hometown and placement wasn't that much good as compared to my current college. I have given the west bengal joint entrance exam(wbjee) and through it the nsec college was allotted to me through counselling process. When the result declared, you have to apply for counselling and put your choice of colleges with rank. Every round you will be allotted college according to your result rank. Passing out in 2025, have seen a old place in 2021, to a new college in 2025, rennovated

I had a senior in my locality, 2019 passout, following whom I joined NSEC. I still admire and thank him for guiding me while joining NSEC. While admission I didint face any kind of interview. I had got a rank in WBJEE, and during the first counselling round, I selected NSEC, got NSEC, and finalized it by paying the first semester fees. I wasnt rejected by any college, as I went ahead with my first option. The counselling round at college isnt anything special, just a question whether or not we would be able to bear the college fees, as all comes down to money.
