Likes

The overall environment of college was very good.It includes the teaching staff ,students and others.

Dislikes

Principal of the college was not very interactive to students.Teachers also remained absent without any prior notice to the students most of the time.

Course Curriculum Overview

First of all geography is a dynamic subject.it includes the scientific knowledge as well as the spatial knowledge.so it was overall very interesting.After pursuing this curriculum I can easily relate with the today's population growth, literacy rate , agricultural practices etc .Teachers must see what students need to be learned in this specific course beside giving thier one sided lectures.

Class Size: 400Course Fees: INR 18000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fee was quite high as compared to other colleges of delhi university.I lived there in a flat which costed me arround 2 lacs per year.There were one form which use to precail was fee concession form in a academic year.There were no such campus placements given to students in many cases.There were only 2-4 students used to get campus placements.

Campus Life

We used to have our annual fest named vibration.It was the only fest in which we used to enjoy on our full potential.Books available in the library were not of very useful.There were no technological provisions within the classroom.There were also no sports facilities.

Admission

The eligibility of the course was based on the percentage basis.i got 91.75 for this.You can find application form on du website.Reserved categories candidates get benefits in cut of percentage.There were 2 sem every year.There should have been online help desk no. To get the admission assistance.

Faculty

See the ratio of the faculty to students were 70 students per teacher but most of the students remained absent so it used to become 20 students approx per teacher.Some of the faculty were very good while other just came to pass their time anyhow.However,we were free to interact with the teachers whenever we wanted.

Dyal Singh College is splendid!

Placement Experience:

Dyal Singh Placements aren't that hefty that I can boast a lot about them. Since I have already mentioned in previous section that I want the deepest knowledge of political science and the only way, one can gain that is by doing masters. Coming to DSC placements over 30% students of Political Science from our college are placed via campus.

Vivekananda College is a dream of every girl!

Placement Experience:

Media people as Hindi Hons students obviously have chane there or researches. Some even pursue freelance things as college provides the perfect platform to gain confidence and showcase the skills. Otherwise research or political expert roles are the only roles offered to Hindi Hons students. Since I want a complete command I will be doing masters in Hindi Hons.

DSC is a decent college!

Placement Experience:

DSC placements are not that great as around 30-40% students are placed and that is how it is here. Most students of Political Science go for higher studies or get job opportunities in political consultancy or journalism.

For placements, there's not much on campus placement programs. Our placement cells are active though. Time to time they keep us posted about the upcoming internship or job opportunities and even invite various organisations for placements. You can even look for off campus placement programs and teachers are very helpful in this. They even offer letter of recommendation for the internship opportunities upon request.

Gargi : A home to a stranger

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love the course I have opted for in the College. I had so much interest in literature since I was in school, hence made the decision to opt for English Honours in my undergraduate degree. The curriculum of this particular course is easy to get, teaches practical knowledge. We have Internal Assesment and Continuous Assessment before theory exams. In continuous assessment, we are given some topic to make presentation or a group discussion from our sense of knowledge and experience. Speaking up in a crowd and in front of the whole class gives the practical knowledge of being there, present, confidence and speak up your thoughts I would love if we can also watch theatre within the curriculum as we read various plays but watching and analysing them would be great. Mostly the exams are held in December and May, they are moderate level of examination and I have found absolute no difficulty sitting in them and writing. We get 3 hours for the core subjects, and 1 hour for our respective VACs, SECs and AECs.
