Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum is very efficiently designed and curated asper the growing needs if the hiring industry. The students not only gain theoratical but also practical knowledge on each subject. Apart from the main subjects of the course, we can also choose electives throughout the course to gain additional skillset. Also the Midsem and Endsem exams are held each semester for continuous evaluation. Sessionals, lab assesments, quizes and tutorial tests are also a part of evaluation.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Tech and Consultancy companies visit campus for internships as far as COE branch is asked for. JPMC hires through a coding test and interview round. Both two and six months internships are offered. Bain and Delloite usually come around start of fourt year. Other tech companies come in the third year usually the fifth semester. Roles such as SWE, SDE, Analyst are mainly offered.

Placement Experience

4.5

Minimum 7.5 to 8 CGPA should be maintained as far as COE branch is concerned. The placement is offered to almost every student witha decent package. Twch companies like JPMC, Microsoft, Amazon, etc. visit the campus for internships as well as placements and even Consultancy firms do like Bain, McKinsey, Deloitte, Capgemini, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The detailed fees structure is available on the website. Academic fees, hostel fees and mess fees are the three payments that need to be made. Hostel fees varies asper the chosen hostel and room type and is usually between 52000 to 72000 and the mess fees is around 23000. Scholarships are provided to ews students and even merit scholarships are provided including 100% refund even based on the CGPA.

Campus Life

5

Many socities and clubs are present both tech and non- tech and there is no limit on how many of them a student can join and even no compulsion to join any. The infrastructure is really high tech and worth it. The labs, the library are really resourceful and pretty large to be honest. The hostels are really nice that it just feels like living in a hotel room. Chouce between 1/2/3/4 seater is provided with a choice of attached/ shared/ common washrooms. Mess facility is provided by Sodexo. Also, the sports complex is pretty large including cricket ground, football ground, lawn tennis, badminton court both inside and outside, table tennis room and much more.

Hostel Facilities

5

The hostels are Thapar really give hotel like feel. Though PGs are available nearby but I would suggest to stay in hostel and not only enjoy college life with friends and make memories but also get to experience the luxuries I would say. Thapar University provides. The hostels come with chouce of ac and non ac and are mainly alloted on CGPA basis. You can choose 1/2/3/4 seater room with attachef/ shared/ common washroom facility. The hostel fees usually is between 52000 to 72000 depending upon the hostel and room type. The Sodexo operated mess facility usually costs around 22500.

Admission

The admission process was quite easy. 50% seats are reserved for Punjab Category students. First round of counselling is based on board marks and then upgradation occurs in consequent counselling rounds asper JEE merit. The cutoff for punjab students is usually lower than others. Admission also ovvurs through December Test. Students can give this test for admission in second year from some other college or can hse this test as an oppurtunity to upgrade their branch.

Faculty

5

Most of the faculty hold PhD qualification from ITs and NITs. Some wven have previous experience or are working on projects with top universities of India and even foreign universities. This also involves students to much extent. The students of a beanch are divided into lecture groups consisting of 4 to 5 subgroups as of COE branch is concerned and each subgroup has almost 25 to 30 students each so in the labs, tutorial classes and workshops, personal attention is provided to each and every student and queries are resolved. The lectures are held for the whole lecture group and has about 120 students addressed by a single professor. The teachers also have student visiting hours each day so that students can have personal discussions with the teacher. Mentor mentee sessions are also held each semester and in that a group of 10 to 12 students is made and assigned with a single mentor for the whole course duration where in personal or professional issues can be addressed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is good and cover every aspects of learning and skills needed in today's time but it feels the semester get over to fast in around 3.5 months with 3 exams and lab exam. They should provide the real learning based on a student interest some student are good in coding but they lack to communicate better, they should focus on that part also as they also do in many cases by giving subjects like soft skills and communication skills every sem.The teacher should not be reading the ppt only . We can do that also why we are paying that much fees just to learn from a teacher who is just reading the slides.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i would rate the course curriculum as largely relevant and fairly comprehensive,. one of the main reasons i chose this course was the balance between conceptual foundations and practical exposure. the curricuum supports future academic growth since many of the modules introduce us to advance topics early, making it easier to explore research. some topics feel slightly outdated and could be aligned better with the current industry skills and technologies. the exam schedule is manageable, though sometimes multiple assessments happen in the same week or same day, ehich adds pressure . Spacing out evaluations a bit more and giving clearer rubrics could improve the overall experience
