- Classrooms are fully air conditioned. It is a relief for students during the hot weather.
- The senior faculty is very helpful in every matter (not just related to studies).
- The seniors (currently in college) and alumni network is very helpful.
Dislikes
- The curriculum of the University is very old and needs to be changed.
- Out of the batch of 800-900, only a 80 or 90 will get good placement. Same goes for internships provided by college.
- We got no proper freshers. The annual fest of the college went downhill too.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I'm pursuing chartered accountancy and the curriculum almost aligns with it. The curriculum can't prepare you for outside world just by its own. The main thing which helps us is the exposure it provides. The societies helps us a lot. Curriculum can be improved by bringing it to current regime, most of the syllabus is outdated.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities in my college are good. The highest stipend offered was around 2 Lakh per month and average stipend offered was around 80,000 per month. Top recruiters are from (HUL) Hindustan Unilever Limited, DE Shaw & Co, Deutsche Bank. The batch size is almost 800-900 but only approx 10% would bag internships from college.
Placement Experience
Placement services in my college are good. The average package is around 10 lpa and the highest went to 35 lpa currently. Total number of offers made were 169 and the number of recruiters was around 40+. Top recruiters are from McKinsey & Co, Boston Consulting Group & Bank of America. Same is the case with internships. As for my plans, I plan to complete my chartered accountancy. So, i have no plans for placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
My current fees for first year was ?30175. It is quite higher compared to other colleges of du but bearable for the exposure and name it provides. It is quite cheaper than private universities. SRCC provides various scholarships but most of them have an income cap. I took a scholarship on my own from outside which covers almost 85% of my program fee.
Campus Life
The annual fest of the college is crossroads, usually held between March-April. We have business conclave too. The library is huge, has a good range of books ranging from academia to entertainment novels to historic books. The library has 3 floors inside (containing books), and 2 floors (sitting area). All the classrooms have facility of projectors. The college has various societies, in different fields, helping students in gaining exposure.
Admission
The admission takes place through cuet (common university entrance test) and the fees for test was around 1500. The cut off for bcom hons from srcc was 780 in my year. The eligibility of the course is = language (english) + maths/accountancy + any other two subjects (mine were eco and bst). All the main subjects took 60 minutes. All the questions were mcq based. The exam was easy but very hectic as sitting in front of the screen was hard and it strained my eyes. Plus, the staff were roaming around continuously for signatures.
Faculty
Most of my faculty members are senior professors. They're very friendly and would help not only in academic issues but also in personal and professional issues. As for the junior or temporary professors, they are a bit strict/egoistic in this matter. As for the method of teaching, almost all of them are good.
