College life

College environment is great, but sometimes due to educational pressure, I feel suffocated.

Among the all private and government colleges of West Bengal, this college has most advanced teaching techniques and possibility of getting jobs through this college is very high. Teachers are very friendly also and they try their best to help you to grasp the topic.

I'm currently studying B. Tech in Computer Science. From my point of view, the course structure is in advanced level. Unlike other colleges, we started C language in our first semester. Along with your course subjects, college provides you a 2 yrs training of competitive exams like GATE, CAT, Banking Exams etc. To improve your development college provides you many competitive challenges also.

Yes, our college provides internships. But I haven't done my internship yet so I'm not fully known about it.

From the passouts, I've heard that mostly they got job in TCS, COGNIGEN like companies. So, yeah! The placement is good and you'll get your desired job, as much as I know. But, if you study hard you can get a higher salary job also

College celebrates most of the major religious events, except that we celebrate a Tech-fest each year. We also held convocations for graduated students. In winter we held annual sports like marathon, cricket tournament, football tournament etc. There is a mini-maker fair where you can show your inventions to public.

In our college, semester fees are 60000 in Indian rupees. For 1st semester exam with registration you need to pay Rs. 1400, for next semester onwards for exam fees you pay Rs. 1000. There is a mandatory course for each semester students, it's called NPTEL. For this extra 1400. So in my view, it's affordable for middle class families.

As our college is a private college, it doesn't provide any scholarship. But you can apply for education loan in any bank.

If we talk about campus life, it's more like your school life with new friends. Gender ratio is around 3:2 (majority boys). Labs are well-maintained and advanced. Every year college hosts a code-competition for all. There are also competition on robotics and debates during Tech-fest.

I don't stay in college hostel. But as far I know that hostel has WiFi along with own college buses for transportation. College hostel is under 1km. But mess food is so so... If you aren't happy with food you can buy local food also. One more thing, there are some PG type messes also. Those are quite good also. And there monthly fee is around 5000 in return of breakfast and dinner.

Seniors are also very much helpful. They don't bother you in your work. Even to help juniors in book-issues, they sell their previous books at very cheap price.

We've 8 semesters. Each semester is for 6 months. There are 2 mid-semester exams of 50 marks in each subject. In the end of each semester we have one last semester exam of 70 marks in each subject. After 2nd mid-semester exam, there's practical exams in labs.

My Higher Secondary Test Results were somehow bad. So I decided to join UEM, Kolkata to study engineering. So I went to the college campus with my parents and Uncle. They checked my grade card, gave me a form to fill up. Unlike other private colleges this college don't take donation. Instead we just paid the semester fees(60000) and medical fees(21000). That's how I got admission in this college.

Most of iur faculties are from post IITans,Jadavpur graduated students with experience of at least 10 yrs. Many senior faculties are also a P. Hd degree holders. Though they teach us with extreme care, they provide extra doubt clearing classes after college hours.
