Course Curriculum Overview
The course is totally aligned to the industry requirement in the core field and is being constantly changing to keep up with the oncoming changes in the field of technology. It not only focuses on the core concepts but also teaches communication skills at a pro level.
Internships Opportunities
Internships and opportunities are a lot present in JU. Companies like Goldman Sachs, etc come for internships. Two-month internship programs can be approved by the college which can be converted into pre-placement offers (PPO). The tasks even if not turned into PPO can always improve one's technical skills and make one more apt for the present day Industry.
Placement Experience
Placements are fantastic in JU with an average package of over 20 lpa every year for CSE and IT departments. Even in core branches placement is fantastic and overall the average package ranges around 14lpa which is quite impressive.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fee is nearly nil . The entire course is completed within just 12000 Indian rupees for 4 years. The placement packages average around 14 lpa when taken as gross and thus JU provides the best Return of Investment in whole of India ..
Campus Life
The campus social life is better than most state government colleges . Although when compared to IIT s , it is less attractive . Annual fest take place (both cultural - known as Sanskriti and tech - known as Srijan). Many clubs are present such as entrepreneurship club , finance club ,etc.
Admission
The admission into JU is through an all-India competitive examination WBJEE. the cutoff stays high for entry into JU through this exam. The seats are 90 percent reserved for West Bengal students and the rest 10 per cent are reserved for other state candidates. According to my opinion, I don't see any point of improvement in the admission process and it is absolutely clear and transparent via all india counselling processes.
Faculty
The faculty -to- student ratio is good and they are very free going to help students whenever they require it . The faculty members of JU hold positions in world rankings of scientists and professors.
