Likes

The only thing I liked about the uni is that it has a lot of vacations to offer. Specifically if you're in Btech.
The library is good. It has a lot of books. If you're interested in studies then you can opt for study in library
They provide buses time to time to go to college

Dislikes

No hostels for freshers, sometimes not for 2nd year too. You must have a network to get hostel in 2nd year and in first year you've to forget about hostel life and have to live in and as a paying guest or in rent.
If you get hostel, there are lots of chances that you would've to share your room with others
And the communication is although not a problem but some drops of rain causes flood in the city and main hilly areas where the transportation happens. For this trains and flights couldn't go to thier destination and therefore they got cancelled.

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum is outdated. I don't think ny college have something to do with it cuz even IITs have outdated curriculum now a days may be that's why some of thier students are not getting placed. But the student have to be a good learner and again if you wanna do something you can do it from anywhere.

Placement Experience

Generally the placement occurs on 4th year. And as per my knowledge only 4th year students can sit for placements. Although placements are not good in the university but you've to be skilled enough to land a 4lpa job among your classmates as less than 50% of your batch will get placed through campus.

Fees and Financial Aid

If you're from general category, scholarship bhul jao bhai india hai. If you belong to some category then definitely you'll get scholarships. Employment varies year to year but you can check the university's official website for more info. My course fee for the first your excluding hostel is 60k

Campus Life

The name of annual cultural fest is AUSKRITI. it happens in December. You can see videos in yt for it. Technicak fest bhul jao. The facilities in classroom are good. It includes digital board, fans, AC. Thier are some clubs in our college but after sometime they got inactive

Admission

Go to college pravesh and you can check the cut off for assam university. Other than that institutional counseling also happens every year if seats remain vacant after JOSAA and CSAB. you can participate on that counseling to. You've check the university's notifications time to time to know the eligibility and admission process through that counseling.

Faculty

The faculties are highly educated. But it depends on the student how likely he's like to he taught. It also depends on teacher to teacher that how are they able to deliver the lectures. But again they have a highly acceptable knowledge so that they are working in a central university right.

Let's have a look what is going on inside NIT Silchar

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem students are allowed to participate in oncampus summar internship and from. 7th semester starting they are allowed for 6 month internship and Full time roles . There is a Training and placement Cell in our college there are some heads of this cell they are senior professors and it have final year students in senior coordinator position and 3 rd year study as probationary. Students bring the companies which fulfills the criteria of TNP cell and each company have their own eligibility criteria and selection procedure. Mostly companies allows 6 cgpa without any active backlog students . But some high paying companies requires 7 or more cgpa . In 3rd year Cisco , microsoft, public sapiens, Tech Mahindra, Accenture ,Oracle and many more companies visited in our campus and hired good amounts of students for summer internship and mostly offers full time role as ppo to students. In 4th year a lots of company like Novartis, amazon, flipkart,aditya birla, Cisco , Deloitte, oracle,ukg, Motorola, siemens , IBM and many more startups visited college and hired .Some paid 15+ CTC and some 6 to 10 CTC . Almost 40% of students are placed till December this year from each branch . Personally I'm planning for taking chances to get an online internship and then try to go for higher studies abroad in automation and robotics.

NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute.The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Normally from third semester student become eligible campus placements but most usually take placements in fourth semester or fifth semester The percentage of getting placements are about 60% The highest package per company usually was ?80,000 per month and the average is around 20,000 Per month My plan is to get a job of a construction firm for about one year so that I can collect good amount of experience and they will hire me because I am passout from this college because this is one of the most reputed college after one year or two year, I will try for government exams or some private companies like Gautam farm, et cetera

Not good at all placements. Worst placement college that is ever been. They couldn't get companies coming to this college after such long times. The only companies which comes gives packeges as low as 200000 per annum. which is worst in these present times.

I want to apply to RTU ( RABINDRANATH TAGORE UNIVERSITY). But due to insufficient funds couldn't take addmission.
