Admission to the university is based on JEE-Mains rank, followed by an entrance exam and an interview. The faculty is largely well-qualified, mostly holding PhDs, with a faculty-to-student ratio of approximately 1:7. There are about 30 to 40 lecturers in the department, with lab facilities that are well-equipped but face frequent changes in lab attendants. From 2024, the BTech program will have only internal and end-semester exams. The passing mark is 50%, and about 40% of students fail the more challenging exams.
The annual fee for BTech courses is around Rs. 55,000, with the first-year costing slightly more at Rs. 60,000. Hostel fees range from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 50,000 per year, totaling approximately Rs. 250,000 for the entire course duration. Scholarships are offered to SC/ST, OBC, EWS, and economically backward students, with a fee waiver for students whose family income is below Rs. 2 lakh. Exam fees for SC/ST students are halved.
Campus placements start from the 6th semester, with the highest package recorded at 16 LPA and average packages between 4 to 6 LPA. Placement rates vary from 50% to 90%, with recruitment from companies like TCS, Infosys, and Amazon. The university's placement cell actively supports students, who also seek internships at institutions like IITs and NITs. However, despite a reasonable fee structure, the university has limited campus placement opportunities and facilities are considered low.
