Course Curriculum Overview

3

the curriculam is pretty straight forward it contains all general topics related to aggricultural engineering like food processing , irrigation , dairy technology , they are very relevant to todays topic . this course is very fexible because we can pursue any topic related to agricultural engineering for higher studies or give multiple govermet exam as the scope is vasat from field engineer to food admnistrater .there is a lack of field work or lack of real world projects. the exam are conducted every 4 months and the internal exams are taken accourding to the subjects teachers .

Internships Opportunities

2

there is no internship alloted to students . there is a training camp for agricultural students after 2 nd semest er the trainnig camp is 30 days and is conducted in 4 training places in indain which re spred over 4 corners of india .

Placement Experience

2

there are on campus placements but there are not many students who got a good placement .only 4th year students sit for campus placement . almost all of them get placed but majority of them chose to go for goverment exams or higher studies becuse of the good oppurtunity there . almost 20-40% students get placed with average package of 2.5 lpa and the higest been 20 lpa . many agri based company vist us for placement like manidra , amul etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

the yearly fee is 50770 rs , it includes varies fees like libary fee , sports fee tution fee and basic fees the tution fee comes out to be 30,000 rs plus other fees add up to 50770 rs. there is no admission fee , just the registration fee in 1550rs in online portal . i paid JOSAA counsellinng 40000 rs in total . all the other catogery stuennt paid more than 50000rs in JOSAA and CSAB counselling so they got the remaing amount that is 18000 rs refunded after 4 mounths because the fees is only 50000 rs . there is a finacial aid fund for student but its is small amount of 8000 and you have to apply for it to get the scholarship

Campus Life

4

there are many cultural and sports events happends in the collage like asukriti , auslympic , techfest and many more . the other department of the collage also conduct varies events which all students can participate and enjoy the libary is large and have a whole collection of book from tech to literacher , and there is a digital libary for students to acess online books . books are alloted for 2 mounths maximum after that you have to return the book there are all type of sports events and all facilty to play those sport are provieded by the collage there is also a gym for all students clubs are not that active , and nobody oraganise culb related events

Hostel Facilities

3

there is a fan ,bed , table , chair and personal almira provided to all students , there is also a common room for group activity and water heater is also provided for winter period , and water cooler for drinking water is also there . the food quality is bad as it is run by the contractor it is provided uder tender and only 2 times a day meal is provided . hostel is alloted in rounds and there is a lack of seating capacity in hostels . there are many rooms and pg in the locality and the eviroment is ok .

Admission

This is the only collage i got through the JOSAA counselling i applied to many collage including the collage in near my locality but i didnt got any of them because of my low jee rank . the admission process was easy after the JOSAA allotment i cam to collage and regestred the copy of physical documets and got the admission confirmation . there was no additional exam involed just thejee rank is taken after allotment i didnt have to give any other exams or interview.

Faculty

3

the faculty to student ratio is very bad as major topics are taught by guest faculty and threre teaching is very bad . but i like Avenash sir he i very good at tezching as he has a long time of teaching experience . he teaches us watershed hydrology . the professor who teaches us kinematics is not that good . i dont like his teaching style of just scrolling the pdf on the digitalbord the exam format is 30% marks of the internal and 70% from endsem .there is attendence and assigments which determince 10% of internal marks . there are 3 max internal exam conducted and all of them are pretty easy .They only ask question that taught

Night Life

3

the gym is open till 10 pm and so is the cafeterias and libary . the libary is open from 9am - 10pm monday ro friday and on weekends it is open from 9am - 5pm . after that the library is closed . there are many hagout points like upoint , s-cube , amul point etc and all of them are active till 10 pm after that all girl students hostels are closed .outside the collage there are many restraunts and a markets to buy things .

Placement Experience:

Placements are not really good in our college, it is more of a research institute so it mainly focuses on PhD as PhD strength is good. Higher education is more prefered here but placement scenario is also good

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and is different for different branches according to their needs. I was interested in civil engineering and chose the course and find the curriculum intersting and relevant for me . The curriculum offers subject which are important for real world applications, like in civil engineering it's offers subjects like building construction, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, material testing, serving, etc. The course curriculum is very good but the teaching methods needs improvement like more digitalization . The exams frequency and timings are neither too late nor too early, they are perfectly planned and executed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There exists a good teaching staff that's why the course is very easy to understand also teachers give us good examples also do practicals so that's students understand the course easily . I see that there exist a low no of equipments in practical lab compare to it's students ratio so if they have a good no of equipments then all students get equipment to do experiment without any waste of time . Time is good as compare to marks and the first 30 marks are beginner level the other 40 marks are intermediate level and the remaining 30 Marks are advanced level questions in a question paper for the students they published.

I choosed because my CEE marks which was 92 at that time was not enough to get admission in govt engineering colleges and the OBC cut off was 120+. So, in Whole northeast Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology is the no 1 and the oldest private engineering college and I decided to take admission there.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario is quite good, with several reputed companies like General Electric, Power Grid Corporation of India, Goldman Sachs, among others recruiting 94 percent of the students in the college. The placement takes place in three rounds, one testing one's aptitude, followed by an hour round, finally leading on to a technical round. Mock interview and job cracking sessions are organized regularly, both by the departments, and also the Training and Placement Cell, to prepare students for the interviews and examinations going forward. The Training and Placement Cell also provides internship opportunities at the end of third year for the students, based on their aptitude and abilities

Remarks:

I have mostly positive remarks about college except for the fact that the college is situated really far from mainstream north India. Train connectivity is not that strong to rest of country. But despite that the college is extremely good in the sense of learning, meeting new innovative minds, and of course placements and jobs.
