Likes
- The college atmosphere. DTU is a place to be if you want to enjoy college life. The curriculum is pretty chill
- Alumni Network. DTU has a significant amount of alumni network since it's inception in the year 1941.
- Highly competitive environment. DTU has a large coding environment
Dislikes
- Locality. DTU is situated in Rohini which is pretty much isolated from main Delhi.
- Mess facilities are not that good. The menu should be revised oftenly.
- Less emphasis on practical knowledge, although it is improving.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is pretty the same from 30 years or more. Although through MOOCs and electives one can learn about new tehnologies and also study other branches especially AI and ML. The curriculum in Civil Engg should be revised.
Placement Experience
Students are able to sit for placements in their 7th semester. Almost 350+ companies visit our campus. ALmost 70% of student got places this year. All major companies comes for the recruitment including Google, Microsoft and PSUs.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for every year student is same with respect to the academic year. There are various scholarships available especially to low-income family students, OBC, SC, ST students and students from minority.
Campus Life
DTU is filled with various societies. Most predominantly is Cultural Council and Yuvaan. Engifest is the flagship event of DTU which has a massive footfall of 200000+ students. It is the biggest college fest in North India.
Hostel Facilities
Talking about boys hostel, only APJ hostel has AC facilities. There are single, double and triple room sharing option. Old hostel have been renovated recenty. The mess facility has improved significantly after the new contractor.
Admission
The admission process was smooth. Everyone had to register through JAC and they are alloted colleges and branches according to that. If the seats are left, then it goes in the Spot round which happens in BR Audi.
Faculty
The faculy members are highly qualified individuals yet they are not able to convey the knowledge to the students in a more judicious manner. Many teacher (not all) professors emphasize on the theoretical part only without any practical significance.
