Course Curriculum Overview

5

The main reason for choosing chemical engineering was honestly because it was the best course i was getting in one of the reputed colleges of india. the course is quite good. the subjects, units etc are up to date and updated. Yes, there are some things which are not up to the marks, but overall cirriculum is good and updated. the cirriculum is designed in such a manner that it helps a lot in practical aspects of the world. The course is made so that the student is actually able to solve the real world problems around him or the problems associated with his/her course The teaching method needs to be improved a lot . the conveyence of the knowledge is something the professors need to work on and also they should give proper notes so that student is easily able to prepare. The exams are generally taken in 2 parts during a semester . First the mid sem exams which take place just after 1.5- 2 months in the semester and the end sem exams happen after 4-5 months at the end . The difficulty level of the exams are quitre moderate. The exams are neither easy not very tough. there are some tricky questions

Internships Opportunities

4

Dtu offers n number of internships for the students. After the 5th semester , internship opportunities start to begin. there is a mandatory summer internship after the 6rth semester in the college. Big tech giants like microsoft, google, amazon , deloitte, oracle, adobe etc come to the colleges to offer ingternship opportunities Students generally get a monthly stipened of 30000 rs and it goes higher for big companies like google amazon etc.

Placement Experience

4

For becoming eligible for campus placements, you need to pass atleast 6 semesters. After the sixth semester, the companies start coming to the college and recruit students. The internship opportunities though start from the 5th semester itself Top companies like google, microsoft, amazon etc visit the college and recruit students with a really top notch salaries. These big companies generally give 30lpa -50lpa salareis to the students , but you have to be very skilled . The students need to work hard to get these jobs the highest package offered this year was 85 lpa and lowest package was 4 lpa the percentage of studnets getting placed is quite amazing in thsi college. 75-80 % students get a placement with some really good paying jobs if any student does not apply for campus placement, or does not on campus placement, then the offcmapus base is also strong. there are alumni spread in different parts of the country and even world. Also the brand value of this college is so great that there would be no difficulty in getting placement

Fees and Financial Aid

the yearly fees i have paid for this year is 247700 in total tution fees : 163000 student welfare fees: 22000 facilities and service charges: 36000 economically weaker section fund: 10000 examination fees: 15000 medical fees: 700 alumni association liofe membership registration fees: 1000 grand total : 247700

Campus Life

5

one of the attractions for me to join thsi college was its campus life. The campus life of this college is really solid. The campus is quite large and spread over 165 acres. mostly crowd here is from the delhi region so the crowd is also amazing. there are a number of hackathons taking place in thsi college, there are annual fests like the engifest and yuvaan. Yuvaan generally happens in october, whereas engifest happens in feburary there are huge number of books available in the college library. the library is pretty big and all the course related books are there in the library and you can get them anytime classrooms have good desks , comfortable desks especially in the academic block of the colleges , the classes have comfortable cushioned seats . All the classrooms have Acs and a good light systems. there are smart boards in almost all the classes. sports culture is great. there are fields for all the sports and you get to tour other top colleges as well such as bits pilani , IIT BHU, IIT guwahati, BITS goa etc. there are a number of clubs like the dance club, singing clubs which are very active the student portal currently doesnt work

Admission

The main reason for choosing this college was its brand value and placement opportunities. It has a great alumni network and legacy. i first took admission in hbtu kanpur in mechanical engineering before i got admission into this college. But my clear focus was to get admission in dtu. As soon as i got admission in dtu , i pulled out my name out the college and withdrawn my money back. The admission process of this college is : first a fall the candidate has to clear the jee mains exam with a good rank which is probably under 60K. Then the candidate has to fill the Jac counselling form and wait for the seat allotment results . 85% of the seats of this college are reserved for the candidates who are from delhi or have a domicile of delhi or have done their class 12 from delhi. So the maximum of the students here are from the delhi region. Even the candidates here are mostly from delhi, the cutoff for the delhi students in dtu goes really high especially for branches like cs, it ece, etc. If you want top branches in this college, you need to have a rank under 30000 in jee mains. once you get admission in thsi college, you need to come to the college to verify the documents and your seat is booked

Faculty

3

I would say that the faculties of dtu are highly qualified and are really knowledgeable but the thing is they are not really able to convey it properly. Though some of the teachers are really friendly and maintain a good relationship with the students , but they are not that good in explaining the topics, or making the notes. Some of the faculties who are at higher position in the college and have become senior are quite strict and they dont tollerate any kind of defaulters. They easily detain students becuase of lesser attendance and do very strict checking the examinations. In maths , the best faculty is would say is jamkhongam tauthang sir. He is a really chill teacher and also maintains a good relationship with students. He is lenient in checking the exams and also not harsh on students for their attendance or anything like that. Talking about exams , there are two exams conducted in the semester, one is the mid sem examination and the other is end sem examinations, and based on these , along with the practicals, assognments etc, the total marks and cgpa is calculated

Night Life

5

nighlife is great in this college. The campus is quite huge and 2-3 cafes are open in the college all night. Since there are no curfew timings for boys in the hostels of the college , they can enjoy the night life . For girls , the rules are quite strict and they have in time. But with proper permission , they can be out at night There is no curfew as such for the boys, but for girls the timing is 10 pm there is a gym which has good machines in it and is open in evening and morning OAT, deltech cafe, hims cafe are some of the places to go to at night where the environment is chill and these places are safe

Other Applied Colleges

hbtu kanpur | mechanical engineering

i didnt opt for this course because i was getting a better college with better location and placement opportunities

Placement Experience:

The fifth semester students become eligible for campus placements. The College organise placement, registration and shortlisting based on academic performance and semester marks. Many well-known companies visit the campus for hiring every year, including both mass recruitment and profile based offers students get opportunities in core companies as well as IT and consulting firms, the highest package offered in recent years has been competitive, and the average package is decent for most . A good percentage of students manage to secure placement through campus drives, but it also depends on students preparation and skill level students also get internships into placement offers. If a student does not get a campus placement, there are still good options for employability students to prepare for off campus placement, government exams or higher studies like Masters. Overall the placement environment is active and give students affair chance to start their careers.
