Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty provides quality education. Besides that the college provides a never ending list of opportunities to do certificate courses which will enhance our skills in the real World. I am looking forward to learning a few languages like Spanish and French, the opportunities of which are also provided by the college.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides certificate courses and internship opportunities. Information for job openings, placement news and initiatives for campusing are also taken by the college. Currently internships like courses on printing and publication from renowned publication houses are being provided in which students of UG, PG and EX students can participate.Other internship opportunities like Skill Development Certificate Course in Customer Sales and Services by Anudip Foundation of Social Welfarevare also being provided.
Fees and Financial Aid
The admission fees is around 1500 and the yearly fees is around 800 in this college. It is so because Maulana Azad Kolkata is a government college. The government of West Bengal provides many schemes and opportunities for the students who are financially weak and helps them do their courses with even lesser fees. Other government schemes are also directly provided to the students.
Campus Life
An event called Srijani was organized recently by the Sociology Department of Maulana Azad College. The event gave a chance to the students to give stalls and do something productive and sell to invoke in them the sense of empowerment and provision of earning through a single event. Many more events like Presentations and interactions are done. Internship opportunities are also provided. Seminars take place quite often to help the students in every way possible. Spots and extracurricular activities are also encouraged. There are Anti Ragging Cells and Career Counseling groups for students which are active and works towards the betterment of the students. The library is extensive and many books are there in the library. One can go inside the library and choose which book to take and the librarian and other working staffs are always there to guide. It is always safe when you are in the campus.
Admission
The students can directly apply for their admission in the college website once the application and the admission process starts. The minimum requirement for a student to apply is to pass in the board examination of the 12th grade and through the admission process the students will get a chance to get admitted. They ensured admission in the college will however depend on the cut-off of each year. Students with a percentage over 80-85 percent can have a chance to get their admission done in the college but it entirely depends on the cut-off. It's just an estimate I am giving.
Faculty
The faculty here is really imoressive. Maulana Azad College being one of the few purely government colleges, the college provides quality education and proper guidance always. Our alumni has distinguished position in almost all over of the world. To mention we have Professors like Sir. Ujjwal Chattopadhyay, Assoc. Prof of Economics who was awarded by Paschim Banga Matha Academy. The Professors here interact with the students well and the students and the teachers form a good bond over the years because it is easy to reach out to the Professors and have a proper one to one interaction regarding any problem.
