Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is not very well designed honestly. Students often get very less time to complete the syllabus. Also there are 7 subjects in each semester in the curriculum which are very difficult to memorise also 3 out of these 7 subjects are just pointless in my openion. They are just waste of time for the students and even teachers.

Internships Opportunities

3

I am not very much aware of the internship opportunities available in the college but the internship opportunities are available on a regular basis. The students get a lot of internship opportunities through which they can earn their side income.

Placement Experience

3

The students become eligible for the placement from the fourth semester onwards there have been a lot of companies that visited the college for placements. Some of these companies are KPMG global,EY GDS, grant Thornton,NIIT, Genpact, Wipro and banab capital etc. In addition to offering placement opportunities to the students the placement wing of the college looks after the training of students continuously. In the year 2023 more than 350 students got internship opportunities from companies like snapdeal, godrej, decathlon and petals.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is pretty muchh affordable the annual fee ranges between 15-20k. I really don't know about the fee hike but the annual fee have reduced in second year in comparison to the first year. During the first year the annual fee was around 16-17k per annum whereas it has reduced to 11-12k in the second year.Alingside the annual fee there are seperate exam fee also which varies according to the subjects chosen. The exam fee ranges from 1000 to 1500 depending on the choices. There are different scholarships available. The college also provide laptops to the students. Alongside laptops the students are also eligible to get waiver in their annual fee which is pretty much beneficial for them. There are alot of campus employment opportunities available however I haven't taken any of them due to which I don't have any idea regarding the participants role, responsibilities or stripends awarded at the end of the job or internship.

Campus Life

4

There are a lot of functions and events that are organised on a regular basis. The college's annual fest name is PRIYADARSHINI that is held every year for 3 consecutive days that include a lot of competitions and events. The annual fest also include dj night. Some renowned artists also perform on this occassion. The overall vibe during these three days is pretty satisfying. The library is also quite big where you can find books related to all the cources and not only single book but a wide range of books are available written by different authors. Alongside the academics book there are alot of self development books available.Daily newspaper from different language and publishers are also available there. Monthly magazines of different genre are also available. There is adequate sitting space available and also the environment is quite. Full sitting area is air conditioned.

Admission

The admission process was really complicated. The students were required to sit in CUET exam to ensure their admission. The course wanted the student to take entrance test containing atleast 4 subjects which can be a combo of either 1 language and 3 core subjects or 2 language and 2 core subjects. The only compilation was that there should have a language as the subject. The application form was filled on cuet website and the application fee was around 400 per course applied.

Faculty

4

The teachers are highly qualified.Everyone have knowledge about their respective subjects. They even keep telling us beyond their subjects about future things to be done. The one drawback point is that teachers when they qualified at their time the syllabus was very different and now it has changed completely so the teachers have to prepare themselves for their lectures. The teachers come regular in their class and always on time. It's very rare to see that any teacher is absent. They take regular tests and assignments also. There are mentor-mentee sessions also conducted where teachers ask about students personal life problems and help them to tackle it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college offers a good mix of theory and real-life application, making it a good choice for anyone genuinely curious about how the human mind works. It also balances academics with hands-on experiences—students don’t just read about psychology in theory, they actually get to practice it through labs, experiments, internships, and field visits. Regular workshops, seminars, and presentations keep the learning process interactive and help build communication and analytical skills that are useful both inside and outside the classroom. Recently a resilience workshop was held by an alumni of MSCW, where we got deeper insights about how resilience can be built, how coping works and how some coping techniques can be bad for u.

Dyal Singh Placements aren't that hefty that I can boast a lot about them. Since I have already mentioned in previous section that I want the deepest knowledge of political science and the only way, one can gain that is by doing masters. Coming to DSC placements over 30% students of Political Science from our college are placed via campus.

Media people as Hindi Hons students obviously have chane there or researches. Some even pursue freelance things as college provides the perfect platform to gain confidence and showcase the skills. Otherwise research or political expert roles are the only roles offered to Hindi Hons students. Since I want a complete command I will be doing masters in Hindi Hons.

DSC placements are not that great as around 30-40% students are placed and that is how it is here. Most students of Political Science go for higher studies or get job opportunities in political consultancy or journalism.

For placements, there's not much on campus placement programs. Our placement cells are active though. Time to time they keep us posted about the upcoming internship or job opportunities and even invite various organisations for placements. You can even look for off campus placement programs and teachers are very helpful in this. They even offer letter of recommendation for the internship opportunities upon request.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love the course I have opted for in the College. I had so much interest in literature since I was in school, hence made the decision to opt for English Honours in my undergraduate degree. The curriculum of this particular course is easy to get, teaches practical knowledge. We have Internal Assesment and Continuous Assessment before theory exams. In continuous assessment, we are given some topic to make presentation or a group discussion from our sense of knowledge and experience. Speaking up in a crowd and in front of the whole class gives the practical knowledge of being there, present, confidence and speak up your thoughts I would love if we can also watch theatre within the curriculum as we read various plays but watching and analysing them would be great. Mostly the exams are held in December and May, they are moderate level of examination and I have found absolute no difficulty sitting in them and writing. We get 3 hours for the core subjects, and 1 hour for our respective VACs, SECs and AECs.

Area that should be improved that is treat every student similarly without any discrimination. Faculty don't even tdke action on sol, IGNOU and NCWEB students. So I think it should be improved firstly.

So there is a placement cell here in LSR that serves as a mediator between recruiters and students and provide adequate placement opportunities for students from various departments. Also companies like Blackstone, accenture, nomura come for placements and the highest package that has been offered to a student was INR 45 LPA!

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum I took is okay considering the low placement percentage from the college's side which is I would say sometimes bad and good at the same time as the students can find their own way around such things. Faculty just complete the topics. we have to study ourselves.
