Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I choose computer science over everything because I feel that the computer science is very relevant in the present scenario. Also my aluminai told me that University provides good internships and placements in computer science and engineering so I choose this course. I personally feel that curriculum prepare us for the theoretical approach more than the real world applications or further academic pursuits but I feel things can go more in practical approach. I feel that the course curriculum is more out dated and computer science is very dynamic so curriculum can be made more practical and more relevant to the present scenario moreover teaching methods were not that bad it was good.

Placement Experience

2.5

In 7th semester students are eligible for the campus placement various companies come for the placements around 13 companies visited and number of offers made were for around 20 positions. The highest package of 224 in my college is 13 LPA and the average package is 4 lpa. Only 10% of students get place this year. I got my placement so after my degree I would probably be joining the company.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fees was 240000 per year. Scholarships were given to the SC caste and those who belong to backward classes. No scholarships or financial aid to those who belong to general category. There were no campus employment.

Campus Life

4

The different occasions which universities organised such as jashan and also there are there is inter College competitions inter University competitions. The only specs which I would read and on 10 of the university is its library the accessibility of books and journals are great one can go to library it has great infrastructure lots of books and ac facility and also it's free of cost. University also organise various posing extra curricular activities. There are social groups student portals.

Hostel Facilities

4

My hostel facility was great in general and the room has bed washroom was there also it provided us cupboards. Meal quality as usual compared to other universities was better but not that better it needs to be improve the lot every week we have different meal course and every day we have different things to eat. Process involves from the universities website itself but a student need to visit the office multiple Times and it might take days to get the registration completed. The locality near the university is great It has good surrounding but it is bit expensive as compared to the hostel facility.

Admission

There were two ways to take admission one was to clear the JEE entrance exam and the other one was universities exam. The mole of entrance to the course in the university I took was the university exam. And the cutoff for which was more than 89%. One can find the application form application fees and application dates on the universities website itself.

Faculty

1.5

Faculty to student ratio is 1:50 in my class, but in other section faculty to student ratio issues is 1:100 and even 1:150. In my case personally it didn't effected much as I have less students in class so learning experience isn't that bad. Faculty members undoubtedly are very experienced and have good knowledge about the concepts. Faculty members have good approach to teaching and mentorship. They were aware of what they were teaching and has good knowledge about the concept so everybody was satisfied with their teaching. Most of the teachers has good approach and attitude towards teaching and students but there were teachers who weren't very supportive.

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
