Likes
- The college really has a campus life. The classrooms of nsb building are beautiful. They have smart boards and projectors as well. All the floors have one lab. The floors are divided by department for eg- 2nd floor is for physics department.
- It also has lift facilities for students. Moving on, as it an all girls college the washrooms are very clean and it has proper sanitation. We have water coolers on each floor of college be it mew building or the old one.
- The canteen keeps on changing nd food is kind of fine. Maitery has beautiful fest and diwali mela. There is a mini celebration for each festival. It has 3 beautiful gardens. The teacher are so frank and helpful.
Dislikes
- The thing i didn't like is that, washroom of second floor is under construction from so much time.
- Other thing is that sometimes fans are nor working of any classroom
- The last thing is frequently changing canteen.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course isn't difficult if you are from arts background and you have a keen interest to study literature. I as a student, was always a literature enthusiast. Nd i got this in the college. The exams are for 90 marks and are not "that much" difficult. If you are through with text, you can easily score good. The teaching method of teachers are also good. Some of them prefer teaching from laptop and their own notes and some prefer reading from the text.
Internships Opportunities
I am not much about internship but yes there are company visits. Pur seniors did got job from this and they pay you well. But there is a presence of internship but i am not aware about it as pf now. The college does cover this criteria
Placement Experience
Well i am not much aware about the placement all i know is that college provide a society that is called placement cell. That brings many company offers to the students who want to enroll in it. But yes we do have company visits for hiring students
Fees and Financial Aid
Well, for my course its 11 thousand for two semester , that if for 1 year. According to me this is quite affordable. Also i self study so i don't need any tutorials or tuitions. For the placement, yes we do have placement cell in the college where they provide placement if possible. The complete cost pf my education is 11k as yearly fees and 3k additional expenses for travelling , snacks nd all.
Campus Life
So maitreyi has two main fest . That is rhapsody and sparkels. Rhapsody takes place after annual exam and first sem. Mainly between feb to march. And other is sparkles. Which you can see during diwali. Its a mega fest where you see many cultural dances, fashion show, singing, drama, acts , prize distribution, magic show and what not. The library of college has a vast collection of books and articles for literature students. College is actively participating in sports ... they just organised a sports fest woth inter college competition and months back, Germany students came here to play.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are good. They give 3 types pf room.. single occupancy, double and triple occupancy. The food is okayish . Menu differs on each day. Sometimes we get very tasty snacks and food. But sometimes its just okayish . The rooms you have to register just after cuet result on college website. The hostel is inside college campus
Admission
The entrance exam i took was CUET. That is common university entrance test. The cutoff usually goes very high in Delhi University. It goes around 780/800 for genral and comes normally to 650. For obc it can go to 550 as well. It depends on course to course and college to college. The demand course like economic hons may go till 790. And less demand course like hindi hons or Sanskrit hons may go till 440 as well.
Faculty
Most pf the teachers are PhD or pursuing PhD. They are very frank and helpful. You can go and talk to them about anything and they'll help you out. They take extra class as well if student want. Most of them are punctual and are on time. They all are approachable and they'll reach out too you back in very less time.
