Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum is very good.Projects are done on recent developments on Computer Science and AI.Faculties are well qualified to teach and guide the same.All the standard technological facilities are available.

Internships Opportunities

Faculties of the department refer students for internship to other reputed organisations like IIT,IIIT, etc.Internships are mostly paid and students can get an effective knowledge by doing internships as it provides an experience to work in industries while studying.

Placement Experience

There's a placement cell there through which many placements are done.Placements are done in NIT silchar in which selected candidates are called from Assam University for the placements.Faculties are very helpful regarding placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Admission fees for one year is between 60000 to 70000 and examination fees is near about Rs 1200-1500 for one semester and for backlogs per subject would cost near about 200 Rs.Many high paying scholarships are available like Ishan uday by UGC, ONGC scholarship,etc.If someone has financial issues they can opt for education loan too.

Campus Life

Campus life was very exciting.I was a part of placement cell and part of student union too.In the final year we organised Techfest where many technological events were conducted.It was a thrilling expereince being in Assam University,Silchar

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility was very good.There are total 5 boys hostels and 5 girls hostels.Food was average.Used to provide food two times a day as breakfast and dinner and on Sunday lunch also gets included.Rent was about Rs 1500 per month and for fooding mess charge is about 1500-2000 Rs.

Hostel Fee: INR 20000 per year

Admission

There are two ways through which you can get admitted to Assam University for B.tech course.One is through JEE mains and other is through university entrance exam.75% seats are fileed through JEE mains and 25% seats get filled through university entrance exam.

Faculty

Subject teachers are well qualified.Most of them has PHD's and has experience of teaching earlier.Lab facilities are very good but lab faculties keeps on getting changed frequently as most of the lab attendents are contractual.

Let's have a look what is going on inside NIT Silchar

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem students are allowed to participate in oncampus summar internship and from. 7th semester starting they are allowed for 6 month internship and Full time roles . There is a Training and placement Cell in our college there are some heads of this cell they are senior professors and it have final year students in senior coordinator position and 3 rd year study as probationary. Students bring the companies which fulfills the criteria of TNP cell and each company have their own eligibility criteria and selection procedure. Mostly companies allows 6 cgpa without any active backlog students . But some high paying companies requires 7 or more cgpa . In 3rd year Cisco , microsoft, public sapiens, Tech Mahindra, Accenture ,Oracle and many more companies visited in our campus and hired good amounts of students for summer internship and mostly offers full time role as ppo to students. In 4th year a lots of company like Novartis, amazon, flipkart,aditya birla, Cisco , Deloitte, oracle,ukg, Motorola, siemens , IBM and many more startups visited college and hired .Some paid 15+ CTC and some 6 to 10 CTC . Almost 40% of students are placed till December this year from each branch . Personally I'm planning for taking chances to get an online internship and then try to go for higher studies abroad in automation and robotics.

NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute.The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Normally from third semester student become eligible campus placements but most usually take placements in fourth semester or fifth semester The percentage of getting placements are about 60% The highest package per company usually was ?80,000 per month and the average is around 20,000 Per month My plan is to get a job of a construction firm for about one year so that I can collect good amount of experience and they will hire me because I am passout from this college because this is one of the most reputed college after one year or two year, I will try for government exams or some private companies like Gautam farm, et cetera

Not good at all placements. Worst placement college that is ever been. They couldn't get companies coming to this college after such long times. The only companies which comes gives packeges as low as 200000 per annum. which is worst in these present times.

I want to apply to RTU ( RABINDRANATH TAGORE UNIVERSITY). But due to insufficient funds couldn't take addmission. My seniors are there and told me it is good university and genuine when i heard about thier marks it is very appreciable.
