Course Curriculum Overview

3

As a language student there's plenty of career opportunities but I personally feel that knowing language only won't be enough for long term career opportunities, I take language learning as a skill development but we need to have a base or can be said as core subject of interest for a better opportunity and it'll also increase the options for us .

Fees and Financial Aid

In JNU education seems to be almost free , We pay 250 rs per semester as tuition fee and 1500 for registration and other documentation. Getting such kind of education at such a low price is a golden opportunity , and there's monthly aid scholarship of 2000 rs for student below a certain annual income. And every center offers different kind of scholarships for there students .

Campus Life

5

I'm never ever going to forget even a single moment I spent here , I don't think in India there is any other place where there's no time restrictions for girls in campus with all due security and safe environment. Noone (including guards , professors ,wardens ,etc) can question anything personal . Also dr BR Ambedkar library is one of the biggest with such a huge collection in various language of different centers. There are projectors, elevators, ramping facility for students with disabilities, etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

For hostel facilities it completely depends on your luck that which hostel will you get . As for me I got an all girls hostel with the lastest architecture and beautiful ambience with the bare minimum fees . The only expenditure I pay here is mess bill , which is also very low ( below 100 per day) . And comparing to other hostels food , food in jnu hostel's mess is way better but obviously can't be compared as home cooked meal . And for rooms and PG there is 100% rate of hostel accommodation for both girls and boys but if someone don't want to avail can live in nearby localities as jnu is in mid of residential area.

Admission

I was from the batch of 2022 , first one to attend cucet for entrance instead of jnuee , so there was no guidance for our batch as noone knew anything about this exam pattern . We were so nervous about exam pattern , marking , cutoff , syllabus etc . I belong to general category so I don't have any idea about the reservation seats and there cutoff but my AIR in CUCET for jnu was 21 and I got it in first list only . And obviously competition is quiet tough but can be cracked easily if you've gone through the syllabus well.

Faculty

4.5

Most of our faculty are JNU alumnus themselves and knows everything very well and helps us with even our personal and campus related problems. Our center feels like a joint family and mostly everyone is really helpful and understanding (some people are assholes too). Professors are always very attentive towards the change of behavior or each and every student and focuses on the problems we are facing and whether if we are distracted.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is something that can have improvements. For example I am studying C++ in my computer minor class which is becoming less and less relavent as compared to a lamguage like python. Alot of job prospects require students to know a language like R so I feel things like that should be taught so that the course cam make a student more real world ready.

My course is on a difficult side . There are subjects like statistics and maths which are too practical and hard . But this opens my mind towards practical approaches. Moreover the demand for this course is much more then its related courses like bcom and bba.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course requires a lot of analytical and logical thinking. The scope is quite wide in my course without having any professional degree too like research, analytics, finance manager etc. This course gives opportunity to gain applied skills and as we are dealing with quantitaive aspects our statistics also gets better with time. Few improvements which i would like suggest are that their should more practical and real life knowledge, currently it is very theoritically heavy. Teaching online softwares must be compulsoury so that we remain updated with technology.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was interested in the subject economics so i opted it for my graduation. The curriculum teaches us with some real life example so it becomes a little easy to understand it, the thing that can be improved is just using a little more real life examples so the students have clarity in topic.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is essential to guide teachers in what to teach, how much depth of knowledge is needed for that grade, and a a timeline to follow so the year will be completed. Curriculum needs to focus on what you can do with information rather than the information itself. I wouldn’t eliminate content, without background we cannot form good, rational, and educated conclusions. We are still giving timed tests in math facts! I know that’s traditional, but it just isn’t as important.
