Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is suited as per the need of the job market. Courses generally tend to be relevant as per the current market scenario. I chose the dual degree as a way to get Computer science degree and also to get maths degree as well because maths is like complementary to Computer science. Curriculum is structured in such a way that taking inference from the real world becomes a necessity and you have to constantly do that to perform well. Exams are quite frequent. We can quizzes every month followed by midsems then quizzes again and then final exams. Also we have multiple evaluative lab and tutorial classes as well

Internships Opportunities

4.5

You can opt for going for internship yourself or through college. We have Practice School 1 and 2 . PS1 is held in summer break after 2nd year and is an unpaid internship given in a company decided by your CGPA. PS2 is a 6 month paid internship after 3rd year again decided by CGPA. You can also opt for Summer internship by virtue of being in a prestigious institution

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements of Bits are really decent with average package being around 20 lakhs and that of Computer science going to around 30 lakhs. Student can sit for placement from the first semester of 4th year. Almost everyone gets placed and companies like Amazon , google. Uber , Microsoft etc hire in good number. Placement percentage is around 90 percent. I also plan to do a IT based job after the degree

Fees and Financial Aid

The hike in Bits fees is generally 8 percent every year. The current tuition fee every year is around 5.5 lakhs and total fees for my degree including the hostels is 32 lakhs. The fees can sound very much for a middle class family but there is a merit and merit cum need based scholarship which is given according to your CGPA . So if you perform well its not really an issue.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is wuite vibrant here in bits. The entire semester is full of different kinds of fest , tech weeks , entrepreneurship events etc . Our cultural fest is PEARL while our sports fest is ARENA and tech fest is ATMOS. Pearl is held in March , Atmos in November and Arena in February. We have a Student Activity Centre with rooms and areas assigned for all the sports and an Gym as well. All the classrooms are equipped with Recorders , centralised ac and speakers. Sports facilities are also provided in each hostel . There are multiple sports ,tech and cultural clubs present in the college which gives you plethora of opportunities to explore anything you like

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are around 12 hostels in the campus. All rooms are equipped with a table , chair , bed and fan for each student. Rooms are either double sharing or single. We have wifi connection and lan connection in all rooms. Each floor have around 4 water dispenser and 50 washroom and bathing cubicles each. There are two mess kn the campus. The menu is quite exquisite and is updated regularly. The food is good in taste and hygienic. You register for the hostels after getting your admission done in the college. PG facilities is not available for any student whatsoever

Admission

The admission is offered on basis of BITSAT score and you must have 75 percent plus in all 3 of maths , physics and chemistry in 12th board exams. Application form can be found on bits admission website and admission fee is 5500 for both sessions. There are no reservation benefits. Exams are held twice an year and of 390 marks. The exam is not that tough and can be aced with good preparation

Faculty

4.5

Faculty to student ratio varies as per course but its like decent enough to have an understanding with the professor. Professor are really helpful and professional and we are provided with their chamber numbers so we can just ask them for a meeting any time . Ratio generally is not fixed as there are labs in some subjects while some have tutorials but in lectures it is like 150:1. Faculty members are highly knowledgeable and know their subjects well. They are highly interactive as well and you can gain a lot of insights from them

The geology has very significant importance to human in more ways but the Geology related jobs are very less in state government and central government. Few geology related companies are give opportunities to students wit. Internships and also provide jobs with tough exam and interview. The companies are Geological Survey of India and NGRI etc.. we expect that jobs in state government jobs but very less in state government in geology related jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite relevant and comprehensive offering a balanced combination of theoretical and practical knowledge for learning. This curriculum helps in developing both conceptual clarity and analytical skills and prepare students well for real - world challenges as well as higher academic pursuits. This curriculum is strong and valuable. The frequency and timing of exams are generally reasonable though at times.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is an amazing course. Helps me understand the concept very deeply the curriculum is also really good. Every teacher has their own way of teaching some can improve but it is fine we can try to study and understand by ourselves a bit. When it comes to internals its of 20 marks we have as such three of them for one sem and avg of 10 is taken from it internals are of 1hr and externals will be about 2hrs 30mins and labs of 3hrs

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of the biotechnology course includes all the relevant topics needed to gain information about the subject. The curriculum also includes currently developing topics of interest which may gain popularity in the future (like bioinformatics). It thoroughly prepares us for real world applications as we gain exposure to various fields of interest in the subject and get a hands-on training in the subject. Ab area i would like to suggest for improvement is to alot equal no. Of periods to different papers in the subject as each topic has its own value in the academic and career purpose. The internals are conducted every month within a duration of 1 hour for each paper. there are currently 4 internals for our batch, each of 10 marks. The externals or the end semester exams are conducted at the end of the semester approx 6 months, which are of 50 marks. 10 marks is alloted for attendance, bringing the total to 1000.
