Remarks
If I want to rate my college overall then I will give 9 out of 10. Except for some foundations like a hostel, students will not be allowed to leave campus after 10 pm and girl students must enter in their respective hostels before 11 pm. Management is supportive and fast.
Entrance Preview
First of all, everyone wants to go to a good government college. Secondly, NIT WARANGAL is always in the top 3 NITs of India (ranking wise). As I could not take admission in IIT due to 2 marks less but at 52 marks I could choose any NIT and I find NIT WARANGAL was the best option. Also in my view taking admission in good ranking NIT is a more appropriate option than taking low ranking IITs.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is not of high standard. It's overall ok but not good. It's not structured well in my point of view as some topics were introduced in the first year after we were passed the first year and these topics are very important for National level competitive exams like CSIR-NET/JRF. I am saying that it's improving day by day. Research level is very poor in NITW. We were not getting chemicals also in time. Labs were small and compact but after I passed out, department of chemistry got new labs in the new building which was under construction when I was there, so I can say that now labs are bigger and research area is also improving.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, but in other departments not in the department of chemistry. Due to this reason, I don't have much idea about the stipend provided.
Placement Experience
Awesome placement and job opportunities. Every year there are thousands of companies visits campus for placement and most of the students got recruited in good companies. Here the students of NITW gets an advantage. In my view being a student of NIT WARANGAL is sufficient for a student to get placed. That's why in the department of chemistry there is almost 100% placement every year. Whoever sits will get placement.
College Events
There are like hundreds of events which are celebrated in the college like all National festivals, like Halloween week, like cultural fest (spring spree), like technical fest (technician), and many more south Indian festivals. You will enjoy a lot if you are studying in NITW.
Fee Structure And Facilities
In comparison to other colleges fee structure is very much feasible and for the financially poor students, there are scholarships available. A fee of the nontechnical course like M.Sc is much lesser the technical ones. In my view, it's worth to pay this much amount of fees as it is a one-time investment for a better future.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are not many scholarships available for nontechnical courses except that for SC and ST students. But there are so many scholarships available for the technical courses. I didn't avail any kind of scholarship as I was in the nontechnical course and above that, I am a general category candidate. There are many state scholarships also available for local students.
Campus Life
Campus life is very good. There are many places for friends to hang out like TIMES SQUARE, CCD, NESCAFÉ, Canteen etc. The gender ratio is quite the same. In my point of view, the ratio of girls and boys are almost the same. As I already mentioned earlier that there are many fests celebrated in which many competitions held, there are two major cricket Leagues, robotics, many sports competition, many debates, many dance competition, drawing competition, face painting and what not. They held in a smooth manner and many students from other colleges also take part in these competitions.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are OK and not so good. There are many hostels in NITW and the one in which I stayed is of 9 floors. This one is called as 1.8 K means it can occupy a maximum of 1800 students and on three floors water coolers are available. There is a table tennis room, two gyms, some shops, laundry service, cleaning service available in 1.8 k. It's the best hostel I have ever seen. When coming to mess the food is quite good when we know that we are in South India. The food costs 12000 rs per semester and according to this small amount for food the food quality is awesome. There is continuously change in food menus also. If you found some bad things about the food you can complain to higher authorities and there is strict action for that.
Alumni/Alumna
Senior students are helpful in case you need some help but no student will worry about alumni and there is no connection between any alumni and student. If any student of NITW will become a famous personality in future then only they will be called in college as the chief guest of any function.
Exam Structure
Exam structure is awesome, Initially, it's like a burden (as in NIT there are lots of exams held in one semester including viva, quiz, practicals etc) but after one semester you will like to write exams, it's a gap between our daily boring schedule. Level of the exam is very good because for clearing the exam you need to study extra apart from what was taught in the class.
Admission
After IIT JAM result you can appear in two different counselling in which one is for IITs and other is for NITs. IIT counselling is done on official IIT-JAM website and NIT counselling is done on CCMN website. First you have to register yourself for counselling at website. Then after getting college, you have to pay partial fees through online and partial fee at the institute on admission day by demand drafts including hostel fees.
Faculty
Faculty of the department of chemistry is very supportive. They have some ego issue but if your relations with the faculties are good then you don't need to worry much. Some faculties are very poor when we say about knowledge as they always want you to write the same language in the exam which is used in books or in their class notes. If your language is different then for them it will not matter whether your answer is right or wrong, they will cut all of your marks and due to this reason, only relations between a student and teacher is bad sometimes.
