Remarks

It wastes the students time to stand in long queues to submit clearance forms, admit card forms or even the fee. If there are appointed CRs then they should collect and submit for everyone at the window, this happens in colleges like Jesus And Mary College. But the students come back to collect their admit cards on their own. This way it saves time and students don't miss out on their classes.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is voluminous given the fact that it is in a semester system. It gets very laborious and many a time doesn't leave much time to cover everything for the exam. It also gets a little cumbersome while the exam time is approaching yet the professors taking classes after classes to finish the course, leaving less time for self-study.

Internships Opportunities

No, not that I have heard of. There is definitely a Placement Cell, which is headed over by a professor and a team of students.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements and job opportunities are usually better for the commerce courses as they were the ones who mostly opted for membership in the Placement Cell. They have good packages and get placed very well in highly reputed companies. The Arts courses students do not opt for Placement Cell as they majorly apply for further studies.

College Events

4.5

The events celebrated are as follows: 1. Saraswati Puja on Vasant Panchami, followed by hawan in the boy's hostel. 2. College Fests. Usually end of February. 3. Department Fest. Around the college fest, may stretch over to March. 4. Competitions that are held all around the year, with seminar and workshops. 5. Farewells 6. Freshers Party

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its not too expensive for upper middle class, can be afforded easily. Otherwise, there are different grants that the University provides with, with which major amount can be wavered. So, the ones who cannot afford may have to inform before hand if at all they require any such help.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, have not availed. The University gives grants to students belonging to the reserved category and waver their fee accordingly.

Campus Life

2.5

Campus life has been vivacious, joyful, enjoyable and extremely amazing when it comes to the fests, the seminars, the farewells, the fresher's parties, department fests, voting in the department, voting in the college, witnessing how student rallies worked, closely witnessing the LP, the laborious sports teams, the comfortable Yoga rooms above the canteen, or even the seminar hall, the amphitheatre, the lush green and well-maintained gardens, etc. Overall there was the equal number of male and female students.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

There is a boy's hostel in the college which is open for only non Delhi-ites. That too only after the merit list is prepared which further includes more than 80% attendance to still benefit from the hostel facilities. The hostel has a good mess and the students are usually only satisfied with the hostel facilities.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, the seniors were more than helpful. Even during the Orientation or during the admission process.

Exam Structure

Same as the Delhi University structure, internal assessment is also according to the University norms. Each paper consisting of one assignment and one test along with the attendance marks for the concerned paper. The break up is of 30-70 internal assessment and main exam accordingly.

Admission

I qualified for the first cut-off, when they were released a day before the actual admission day on the official Delhi University website. The admission process was a cake walk. The concerned faculty members of each course sat in a room in the main building, checked the mark sheets, calculated the percentage for both- class 12th marks and cut-offs, if qualified they sent to us to the computer lab to attest the photocopy of the mark sheet. After this to a window at the backside of the building where we were given the college Prospectus after payment and then returned to the same room for filling up the form for admission. The faculty was very cordial and were present there to help at any possible juncture. After the form was filled, the faculty members checked the form and attached photocopies along with the original certificates and sent us to the college auditorium for final receipt of admission slip. It took us around 2-3 hours waiting in the auditorium for the final acceptance and to collect the receipt and the admission slip.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of the college and particularly for BA(h) English is the best. They all work as a team and never fail to help students. They teach very well and do not hold or share any ideas that are irrelevant to the course or class. Also they never target anybody specifically and insult them unnecessarily. They are probably the most helpful, most understanding and very well qualified professors. Never did it happen that they would cancel classes and not inform. They would also share the details of the related seminars or street plays nearby, and sometimes we went with them for the same.

Placement Experience:

placement and internship fares are regularly conducted on campus where various companies which are mostly start-ups visit to recruit students for internships and entry level roles. Students become eligible for internships from the first year itself. placement opportunities are generally available after the completion of the full degree and only final year. Students are eligible to apply for full-time rules. last during our last internship and placement fair over 20 companies visited and recruited almost 150 candidates. There are no separate records distinguishing internship from placement. The highest package reported for economics honours is around 12 lakhs per annum and the average package is approximately five lakhs per annum. As per my future plans,I intend to pursue a masters degree after completing my undergraduate course.

For USME, FMCG and Financial companies are the ones which are put in place. The only reason is that those are the companies where we can add value and placements of both courses of USME happens together and combined if I say around 75% students are placed. My plan though is to join GIPE after my graduation ends this year.

DTU because East campus is more known for USME placements revolve around us. Now core companies of our sectors are the ones that deals with finance, insurance or stocks. So nearly 20-30 companies of that space or sector hires over 100 students of BAE every year.

Average and Median packages are between 8 and 10 lakh per annum, with highest packages going up to 25 lakhs.
