What Students Say

Likes

The faculties are very friendly and make sure that we understand the topics they teach
The colege is located near Trivandrum main city and provides a lot of options for fun activities
The college supports sport very well and has all kind of sports teams

Dislikes

The college management, however is very strict
College timings are extensive and students hardly get any time for leisure activities
The hostel has a curfew time of 6.30 pm for both boys and girls, which is very early compared to any ither hostels in and around Trivandrum

Course Curriculum Overview

Even though the syllabus is more similar to the ktu syllabus, some of the topics are cut off from the curriculum, the exams are tough compared to other colleges . The curriculum focuses on more realistic topics in the field.

Internships Opportunities

Companies present in the techno park often give internships to the students in this colleges, companies like intrain, ust global etc also provides good internships for students though it often might only last for few days maximum

Placement Experience

Since the college is situated in the vicinity of tech giants like infosys, Amazon etc, the college is able to provide with many placement opportunities. However the salary packages may not be as good as expected.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is obviously higher than the government colleges, but there are a lot of opportunity to gain scholarship if the student is able to produce a good score in each semester. If the student is able to maintain the mentioned cgpa through the semester then there will be a considerable decrease in the amount of fees

Campus Life

This college is very well known for the fact that there are very few technical and annual fests that provide the students with an opportunity for fun activities and public exposure. There are a very few annual fests like the inceptra, hash, offroads, crossroads which are meant to be conducted annually but faces a constant problem of funding

Hostel Facilities

The rooms are of many types including singles doubles and triples. We get to choose our roomates and the type of rooms we want. However this option is not given for the 1st years. The hostel is hygienic and the food is above average compared to other hostels

Admission

As far as i know,12 th pass with a minimum rank of 25k in keams Or equivalent percentile in jee mains is needed to enroll on the college. Application can be done through the keams allotment Or through the official website as well. The exams are pretty tough and frequent. Admission process were pretty neat.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements are good, can be better. This year the average is 15L and median is 12L and highest is 50L for ece, the percentage of placed students in ece is also greater than 80%.In the 3rd year students are taken for interships and those may convert to placements and for 4th year students placements will start from the start of their 4th year itself.For ece meesho, dell, texax instuments and many other companies came, meesho paid the highest salary in ece.My plan is to secure a good job in core company.

Nit Calicut - Good Side and Worse Side

we get placements mostly in the post 6th sem or in 7th sem. Some major companies like texas instruments offer good packages here. others include meesho, goldmans sachs, dell, bpl. Highest package is around 50lakh for ece students and around 70 lakh for cse. more than 80 percent get placed from cse and ece but is only around 20 percent in branches like production engineering, engineering physics. less core companies than it ones

Placements are the main highlight of our college.Highest package offered this year was 52 lpa by D.E shaw &Co . Average package was around 8lpa. Almost all students from CSE and ECE were placed . Companies: Redbus, Deloitte,TCS,UST Global etcs. Students from sem 6-7 are eligible for placements.

I had applied for saitgaits,amal jyothi and cet. Considering cet,the fee and placements are high but the discipline and structured way is lacking.Now considering saintgaits and amal jyothi,there are more opportunities in mbcet to explore.. mbcet is also in the town and easily approachable via public transport.mbcet has a disciplined approach to studies.comparing the hostels too mbcet has one of the best hostels. I was rejected in cet for cs dept as i didnt aquire the required rank..i was accepted in both others but decided to join mbcet due to its status in society.
