What Students Say

Likes

Campus is not that bad and is near National highway.
Will get university certificate for anything you participated
The teachers are very friendly and teaches well

Dislikes

If you miss a single class, your attendance percentage will go very low as teachers wont take classes regularly.
The schedule isnt going according to the academic calender and exams are rushed atlast. No study gaps between exams
No placement is guaranteed. Even if there's, that will be for a very low income sourced job, like for local industries.

Course Curriculum Overview

The practical laboratory facilities are not available for every program. The exams are easy and have enough time. Even though the course needs improvement like some of the temporary staff should be replaced, some facilities for practical and theory classes are to be improved. Should need more practical aspects of what we will work on after graduating and securing a job.

Class Size: 33Course Fees: INR 65000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee is moderate. But felt like it was overrated for studying here. E-grantz scholarship is available but it will take some time to proceed. It covers 80 to 100% of your college fees including hostel fees and varies based on your reservation category.

Campus Life

There are many opportunities and club activities but we have to do all this ourselves. No faculty is involved with any extracurricular activity other than NSS& NCC. No monthly activities are there. Almost all books regarding fisheries and ocean studies are available.

Admission

I got admission through the KEAM entrance exam. The last rank was 25000 something for state merit. And based on reservations it varies each year. Children of fisheries(COF) have more reservations and advantages.

Faculty

The interaction between faculties and students are good, well best. The faculties are friendlier and helpful. But most of the times they are unable to take lectures as they will be also working on administration (since lack of faculties in administration services).

Experience as a first year student at NIT calicut

Placement Experience:

Here we recieve a really high number of offers this year it was around 970, The highest package received this year was 44.42 lpa and average was around 12 lpa Accenture, Bharat electronics limited are few of the top hirers, intel and nvidia also hire from here they are more relevant for ece students The percentage of students getting placed is 81% I will most probably try for a direct placement, I'm not thinking about higher studies(MTECH)after UG but that might change in the future

College Feels Like Home

Placement Experience:

The placement department in our college is great and is always trying to bring good companies to the college. The placement training starts from semester 7. Our top recruiter include Infosys, TCS, Wipro, NocoBD, Delloite, etc. and our mechanical, civil, EEE,ECE all got placements with avg of 4lpa.The highest package where 12 Lpa for SAP. My plans is to get a good job and lead a stable life.

Placement Experience:

Students in 7th and 8th semester are eligible to sit for campus placements. Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows

My honest review of ICET

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for attending campus placement from semester 7. Some companies that visits ICET are Utc global, Layland, DeltaX, etc. The average package given by the companies are 3 lpa. The percentage of students getting placed are around 40%. I plan to placed at any company.

I have known about this college from my relatives. So many alumni have been placed in different sectors. I got admission to S.H. College but rather chose this university.
