Remarks

Good: Well organised. Well managed. Academic excellence. Top class professor. Women safety is of up most priority. Bad: Way too many restrictions on girls.

Entrance Preview

BIT mesra is a well established college famous among the engineering aspirants. Me being a resident of Ranchi jharkhand was aware about the college performance from an early age. Many of my cousins are alumnae of the college and have always praised it for its good academic performance.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

My course structure focuses on the skilled development of a mathematician. It covers all the topics of hot research activities as well as the classic mathematical models. Though the new batch of the course is studying a different course structure that is more involved with the solving of real life problems.

Internships Opportunities

College does provide internships. We are allowed to sit for internships provided by esteem companies. Normally it varies from twenty thousand to fifty thousand.

Placement Experience

4.5

College offers 100% placement. Every student of BIT mesra holds a job at the end of their college years. The highest recruiters being Microsoft Adobe Goldman Sachs directi. Average salary of the college is 4 to 5 lacs. There is a tnp cell that keeps an eye of the placement activities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's a bit expensive for a middle class family. It costs almost 10 lacs for the engineering courses and almost 8 lacs for integrated courses. The mess fees for a semester is 15 thousand. The first year fees semester wise is 50 thousand. 2nd year is 55 thousand and it subsequently increases.

Fees and Financial Aid

College respect all government scholarships and it provides scholarship to the highest scorer or 9.0 cgpa holder.

Campus Life

3

Men to women ratio is 10:6. Students are admitted from all over the globe. The labs are a bit too old for the current generation. Most of the tools are worn out. Though there is a constant effort to upgrade things. Clubs in the college deals with all the new technologies. There is a robotics club, three clubs that deals with latest car technologies and four clubs that deals with coding competition.

Hostel Facilities

4

I would give an 8 out of 10. The food is good and the discipline is always kept in check. Rooms are a bit small for two people to accommodate. Though that is only for the women in the College, the boys get to enjoy single rooms. There are in total 13 hostels. 2 for girls and 11 for boys.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumnae are linked via a inbuilt alumni website and an app. Alumni are always present during the college recruitment. Alumni that hold remarkable positions usually help in fest funding and internships. Every year there is an alumni meet conducted by the college.

Exam Structure

UG: Mid semester- 25 marks. End semester- 60 marks. Presentation- 10 marks. Unit test- 5 marks. Pass marks- 40 marks out of 100. PG: Unit test-30 marks Presentation- 10 marks End semester-60 marks Pass marks- 50 marks out of 100 The presentations are to be presented in front of a judging panel.

Admission

In early June there was an announcement on the website as well as in the newspaper about the admission in a relatively new course namely integrated MSc. In physics, chemistry, mathematics and computing, and food technology. I was always keen about learning mathematics so I opted for mathematics and computing. I filled the form. After a few weeks the college uploaded a merit list. I was on it. I was called for admission procedure. There they asked me to fill a two pages form containing mostly academic details, two photos, signature, school certificates and 12th standard result. After submitting the documents and paying the semester fees I was a student of the deemed university.

Faculty

4.5

The faculties of my college are at the top of their game. Almost of them are PhD holders with a lot of experience. They are friendly, punctual and always encourage students to research on every topic. All of them have different methods of teaching that keeps the students interested in all the topics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Like everyone knows in which carriculum they are interested ,similarly i know i have a keen interest in my subject i.e. physics . We can't see physics as a theoretical and mathematical aspect but in our daily Life we use to experienc it . Like if something is fell down there is a reason behind that is gravity .we use to experience physics in our daily life . Some teacher use to make us feel for that subject but someone make us bore sometime. It happens rarely but sometime it happens. So i suggest them to change some activity Like teach with more energyso tha we can't get bored. Sometime we get very lengthy paper in the exams so everyone have to prepare before the examination with high speed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was very fond of mathematics in my intermediate times that's why I chose to do my graduation from BSC Maths Honours. But I chose the wrong college for doing so, which overall ruined my life. After coming to this college, I lost my interest in studies and this is the only thing I gained from this college. So, I would recommend everybody to stay away from this college.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement in our college is held after the completion of all 6 semesters and there is very limited number of companies that come over to offer placement but off campus placements starts from 6 semester onwards. The companies visited were Vedanta for graduate trainee offering 1.40 - 4.65 LPA Tata Power for graduate trainee offering 1.90 - 3.69 LPA Only 40% students got placements. Many students didn't take part as the packages very low & even the perks were not so good. I planned to do higher studies in M.Sc. As the subject was very intriguing I preferred pursuing more knowledge.
