The curriculum right now is pretty outdated I would say. The curriculum for branches such as MNC and AIML is better designed than core branches. There are 4 exams scheduled in a sem. Two quizes carrying 20 percent of marks , a midsem with 25% weightage and an endsem with 50% weightage. Rest ,5% of marks are based on your performance, attendance in the class.

There are several companies that come for internship opportunities, ITC , Tata Motors, Tata Steel etc. For circuital branches, companies such as microsoft, walmart and amazon visit the campus as Well.

Students are eligible for internships in 6th sem. The companies for placements come to the campus from 7th sem onwards. The average package for my branch is 8 lpa. Almost all of the students who are eligible get placed.

The fee increases every year. For the first year the fee is close to a lumpsum amount of 5 lakhs (including hostel and mess fee). The mess fee is 35000 per semester and the hostel fee is 20000 per semester. The academic fee is close to 15 lakhs for 4 years. For Meritorious students, scholarships such as GP Birla Scholarship exist which are provided on merit cum means basis. For ST/SC students different scholarships from the government and the institute exist.

The infrastructure of college does have a scope of improvement. The club activities are good and there are club events going on throughout the year. We have 3 main fests in an academic cycle , Tech fest (Pantheon) , Cultural fest (Bitotsav) , E summit .

Hostels are pretty good for first year. The mess food is average . Rooms are quite small , single rooms have been converted to double ones . A room had 2 beds , a table and an almirah. You can get more tables by asking your clerk.

I joined this college for the reason that I wasn't anything else better tbh . I do feel now that I made the right decision as the college is far better than many private institutions. The college admits students from JOSAA counselling and csab. Incase any seats are left , the college conducts on spot counselling.

The faculty to student ratio is great, for approx 4000 students in btech there are almost 80 faculties. Some of the faculties are great and you would really learn a lot being around them while some of them are unnecessarily strict and irritating. They point out mistakes unnecessarily and are not at all approachable. Some of the best faculties I have found until now are Dr.Dileep from Physics department and Dr.Abhinav Tandon from Mathematics department. It was great fun being in their class last sem. The evaluation scheme is as follows: there are two quizes each of 10 marks each and then there's a midsem that carries 25 marks and then an endsem paper carrying 50 marks , rest 5 marks are given based on teacher's discretion. The exams for some subjects are tough to pass while some of them are quite easy to get through.

There's no nightlife tbh. The college is located in mesra which is in outskirts of Ranchi. There's an institute gym , and some cafeterias are there inside the campus. Boys hostel doesn't have any restrictions on in timings. Girls hostel however has an in time that is 9 pm.
