Curriculum is not that much hard as compared to other colleges.
Enough free time to pursue your other habits and a lot of good clubs and societies are available to join.
Placement are that of NIT's level. One can easily gets a good placement

Dislikes

College infrastructure is getting old day by day
Mess food quality is not that much good.
Campus is too short as compared compared to other colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum in PEC is not that much hectic. You have relaxed classes timetable. You will get enough free time to pursue your other habits. Exams are conducted twice a semester i.e. mid sem and end sems.

Internships Opportunities

A lot of companies visits for internship like JP Morgan, Goodman Sachs etc. It is necessary for college students to go for internship in their 6 semester. Companies come for role of data analyst, software developer, consultants etc

Placement Experience

Punjab engineering college is a very good college in terms of placement. A lot of companies visits every year( including apple). If you will do little hard work, you will get placement easily. All branches average placement is above 10 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

Academic fees per year is around 1,88,000 Hostel fees per year is 81,500 Mess fees per month is 3,800 So your total fees for 4 years will be able around 13 Lakhs including other expenses. And full fee waiver is given to all BPL students

Campus Life

There is lot of clubs and cell in this college like NCC, NSS, SCC, APC etc. The infrastructure is average in this college. Library is big enough and with lot of books available. College have athletics, football and cricket ground also.

Hostel Facilities

In 1st semester you have to accomodate in 2 seater, but from 2nd year you can apply for single room which you will easily get. Wifi facilities are good. Washroom condition are good Mess food is okay okay not that much good like in other colleges

Hostel Fee: INR 81000 per year

Admission

You have the college on the basis of JEE Mains rank which happens twice a year. You can expect to get this college till 80,000 rank. There is home state and SC, ST reservation but no reservations for OBC students

Placement Experience:

The placement at uiet chandgarh is quite decent and steadily improving , especially in core branches . Students become eligile for in campus placements from 7th semester . Some big companies also comes for placement like infosys , wipro ,tcs,accenture , ibm.

The curriculum is based of the current industry patterns and is really good . There could be areas of improvements in terms of first year subjects but other than that its very good . the frequency of exams is good and sufficient time is given . they are of moderate level depending on the subject teachers

Is pec Chandigarh worth it

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from 6th semester onwards most of the big companies do visit our campus like apple Flipkart Microsoft Google airbus and most of the big companies come in our placement I package for electrical branch in 2025 was 52 lpa and the average median package remained about 13 LPA for2025 the data isn't out yet but typically 72to 75 percent students get placed in my branch my plans after the degree is to get a stable corporate job of 18+lpa

Pec...The best college in chd

Placement Experience:

This college has decently good packages both the average package and median packages as well as almost 80 percent studnets are placed before the 4th year ends...if I talk about my branch the median was 11 lpa and almost 90 students were palced out of 120 in 2024

My review of PEC Chandigarh

Course Curriculum Overview:

For improvement in teaching methods, they can go digital, like using smartboards, or use more practical teaching methods, or maybe just improve the way of teaching simply. Teaching methods here really need upgrades, mostly students here have to rely on youtube when exams come near.

Pec is still worth it

Placement Experience:

The placements have been lowered by 10-20% recently, but they are getting better. You will get a job if you manage cgpa above 7 and are decent with your skills, but then don't dream for 20lpa + jobs, you need to work upon yourself in silence to get 25-50 lpa packages and they do happen in our colleges, highest package in electrical 2024-25 was 52 lpa and in ece cse they had 61 lpa. Companies start coming in 3rd year for internships, only 10% manage to get intern in 3rd year, companies like microsoft, atlassian, flipkart, mercedes, jp morgan etc. they do come. Placement perecentage is like 75-80% in electrical and it is very low in civil (around 40-50%), in cse it is like 90% or even higher. My plan is to get an intern asap. (Maybe in 2nd year theough offcampus)

I applied for Maulana Azad institute of technology Bhopal but I didn't get branch higher than mechanical for my rank so I considered this college this college has great placement records and good legacy so this was a safe option for me and the location of this colleges just perfect for me I was also spectacle about getting admission into NIT Jaipur under chemical branch but I wanted circuital branch and the electrical branch of this college is better than most of the college in the same league so I choose this college for this particular reason I got rejected in maulana Azad institute of technology for my low rank I wanted at least a circle branch so I didn't get admission there basically you give exam JEE mains to be specific and then you get your rank and just a basic process you enroll in juice accounts in counselling you get this college there are other course like be designing so you have to give respective exam for that course...Read More

Pec is still worth it

I chose this college because of the fees and legacy of college, it is more than 100 years old and everyone in the industry knows about it, the fees is low compared to others. the campus is decent 150 acres which is comparatively better than other government colleges (though if u want better campus and can pay high, go for thapar). I applied to thapar, IIITs but at the end chose here. I was rejected from NIT delhi due to rank (college tag is more valuable of NIT).
