Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I would like rate this course curriculum 8/10 on term of relevance because it a newly launched course which is made by latest requirement of industries. The data science and economics are the major aspects of this curriculum that influenced me to choose this course. The curriculum does prepare us pretty well for real world applications and also allow us for further academic pursuits. Yes, there are areas of improvement in curriculum like even distribution for subject from both data science and economics field but what we actually get is data science part in 1year and then it's start from 6th sem otherwise the 2nd year and 5th sem is dominated by economics. The teaching methods can also improved by more projects based teaching. Due to short sem, the frequency was high for exam with higher difficulty

Internships Opportunities

2

As for btech students, they have variety of options for internship but it's is not provided by college. It's done by students on their on. Our college doesn't provide internship opportunity with stipend as per my knowledge. Same goes for IMsc students, we have to find internship on our own. We does provided summer break and winter break. Yes, we can make project under our faculties but that's is for experience and cv.

Placement Experience

3

As of college, placement is quite good. Highest package that was recorded is 50 LPA. But for our course, there is no any such history because our branch is new. But we are hopeful because of the data science, it's sexiest job of 2023 and it's demand is increasing day by day as tons of new data is generated every second. Also, you can get bsc degree and go for MBA or aim for any iits for masters. It's a 5 year course that's why from 8th semester, students are eligible for campus placement and for btech students, they are eligible from 5th semester. The list of companies that visits our college includes companies like Adobe, Infosys, Amazon, Google, reliance etc. The highest package is 50 LPA for btech. Avg package is 10 LPA. 90% of cse, 80 % of bio tech, 79% of chem eng, 95% of it. My plan is after doing bsc, I will try for gate and jam. If no good result, then I will complete my masters from here

Fees and Financial Aid

Since it's a private college so the fees is little higher but still it's less than btech. The structure is 84,500 for 1st and 2nd sem and then it's increases per year. There are scholarship which is based on sgpa and other scholarship for st/sc students. Tuition fees is fixed and mentioned during admission. There is no such hikes as per my knowledge. The complete cost of my education with tuition, service fees, and other. compulsory charges would be around 15 lakhs. The amount of scholarship is about 25% of your tuition fees. This is new course so there is no any placement records but we are hopeful as many companies do visit our campus for recruitment.

Campus Life

3

The overall experience with campus life was pretty avg for me. Yes there are lots of clubs focused on various field. There is mainly two fests that take place in our campus. Bitotsav is 4 day cultural fest which take place during February month and Pantheon is a 3 day technical fest which occurs during October. The range and accessibility of books and journals available in the library is quite large. The classroom is provided with projector and air conditioner. We have a large sports complex where we can play variety of sports with students gym for both male and female (seperately). I am a member of sds (society for data science). its a very good club which sync with my interest and my field, it's does have a good impact on my life. One of the major problem of this campus is that it is very alienated from main city so if you want to visit outside the campus, it's would take a major part of your time

Hostel Facilities

2

The hostel facility is quite worse than my imagination. We are accomodated two student per room but the room itself was designed for single student. If we have given single room then we would have better condition because its quite costly. We have charged 20k per sem but their facilities doesn't meet the fees they take. The meal is quite bland and overcharged. There is no any transparency that how mess fees is calculated. The registration process is quite normal and it's not affordable. There no local pg for rents, it's compulsory for students and we have no other any options. But for local, they can opt day schooling but only after 1st year.

Admission

The admission process was not very hard, it quite simple. Applied through obc reservation portal in which I filled a form which cost around 1500. The eligibility for this course is just meet the required percentile for general. You can find application form, application fees details and application dates in the official site. There is 2 quizzes(10 marks), 1 mid sem(25 marks) and 1 end sem exam(50 marks). There no any particular areas for improvement in admission process but they can definitely made it more easily by a proper video in there official channel

Other Applied Colleges

National Institute of Technology - [NIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electrical Engineering)

Actually biotechnology is an interdisciplinary program where we have to learn mostly the practical skills but there is no such equipment for doing a decent type of research work as they are not in a working condition. So first it has to be corrected and new equipment should have to buy for a making a good laboratory.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement in our college is held after the completion of all 6 semesters and there is very limited number of companies that come over to offer placement but off campus placements starts from 6 semester onwards. The companies visited were Vedanta for graduate trainee offering 1.40 - 4.65 LPA Tata Power for graduate trainee offering 1.90 - 3.69 LPA Only 40% students got placements. Many students didn't take part as the packages very low & even the perks were not so good. I planned to do higher studies in M.Sc. As the subject was very intriguing I preferred pursuing more knowledge.

As the session started late so we have less time to complete the syllabus but it will be fixed after one semester. Teachers don't go very fast in order to complete the syllabus they focus on that the students are understanding the lectures delivered. The frequency of exam is ok 2 in one semester. Difficulty of exam is moderate to hard

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am chosen this course because mathematics is my strongest subject from all of the others that's why I can choose mathematics. Faculty member of our college is very supportive but some of the teachers are very rude behaviour. Our college teachers are very disciplined about teaching and any project work. My class have 250 students. Every semester our college takes mid sem exam then a viva exam, assignment on every paper, group discussion, surprise test. The exam pattern was based on their classes. The exam pattern is moderate most times.
