Karim City College (KCC), Jamshedpur, affiliated to Kolhan University came into existence in 1961. This college was established to basically impart knowledge to the weaker section of Jharkhand specially Muslims. KCC is a private college which offers 31 undergraduate and postgraduate courses in 22 departments across 3 streams namely arts, commerce & science. KCC also provides certificates & diplomas under add-on vocational courses with different specialisations.

The admissions in KCC are done on merit basis followed by an interview. But there is an exception to few courses as in mass communication, in which admissions are done on the basis of a written test followed by an interview. The college also provides placement facilities & the top recruiters are Wipro, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Concentrix, etc.

KCC Admission

Admission in KCC Jamshedpur is merit based for all the courses except the mass communication program. Merit list is released and then candidates are called for an interview. In MA in Mass Communication course, there is an entrance test followed by an interview. The applications for the 2022 admissions are accepted both online and offline.

Stipends: The candidates who belong to SC, ST & OBC category are entitled with Stipend by the district welfare department.
Free Studentship: On a merit basis, 12.5% of the total students are awarded with substantial concession on admission charges.
Scholarship: The students belonging to SC, ST,OBC, Minority communities & physically challenged are awarded with scholarships. The college provides such students 200 INR to 50 students for purchasing books & stationery.

My experience in Karim city is well nice.

Likes

I like mostly like the environment and faculty for their helpfull nature.
The infrastructure is very good it have two branch for different educations.
It contains many course to develop skills the facilities were also good for students safety and many more.

Dislikes

Playground is quite smaller and the building were quite old.
Some times the timing of classes were also too late to present in class.
The placement cell is quite weak for the students who desired to have a great package from campus.

Students view on course curriculum

It develops many courses under the college every course is good. As your Choice and interest you can opt for course. I have chossed for BA English because I wanted to be a English professor and writer. The number of students is quite much and also have much faculty to handle all the courses and students.

Internship opportunities provided by the college

There were many paid internship programs to develop skills the companies stipends up to 10000 per month after completing internship they offer jobs. If anyone desire to do jod in other companies the internship certificate can help a lot. Tata is the main company to give students opportunity for internship.

Companies recruiting from the campus, and average package being offered

From their last semester the companies starts to visit college for students some of companies are byjus, Mahindra and etc. The average package of placement is 180000 to 250000. About 25% of students get placed from university. I will do B Ed to be a teacher and proffeser in future.

The fee structure is very comfortable for students It charge's the minimum fee for every course. All the course we're affordable and pocket friendly. There were also many government scholarships which comes in university. It offers many internship with a good stipend.

Fests and facilities in campus

The campus life is very enjoyable and learning. There were many fest such as sprac, Quiz and many more. Everyone can book accordingly to their interest and knowledge it have a vast library for students. Everyone class room consist for their own smart boards for better learning.

For admission in Karim city university you have to clear CLAT examination. The seat is limited so be careful for your marks and grades in clat exam. Actually I applied only for this college because it is nearer from my home and actually this college is quite famous in my hometown and i didn't apply in another college because this is kolhan university and the education is good in this college. The admission process is like you have to get 60% above in your 12th and no exams were taken , i got direct admission so that's why i applied in karim city college instead of any other colleges

Freedom of Work and Inclusion of Students in every event and department irrespective of there courses.
Alumni and there regular intervention in guiding Juniors for better counselling and right career path

Dress Code is not manditory but it is there
Campus could have been bigger and better
Canteen food can be improved regardless there are some very good food

Admission:

The most important factor was the affordability compared to other colleges including within-state colleges as well as Inter-State colleges. Also, the Faculty was very inclusive as I took last-minute admissions and they were happy to take me in. The admission process was fairly easy they took the mandatory marksheets of Std 10th and 12th also the Aadhar Card and Parental Details and the fees were paid in Cash. Later after the payments I was provided with the prospectus and Other Information. The later day as I was in Covid batch I was invited to a college group and was provided with notes and insights on what did I miss as the classes had already started

Likes

There is no such pressure of the academics as they are easy to pass, because of this we can focus more on skills.
No pressure on attendance, no need for 75% attendance.
The peers are supportive and competitive which motivates you.

Dislikes

No internal hackathons or competitions are arranged, only dance and music competition are held frequently.

Admission:

I have not applied but i went to get admission in KMPM college. The reason i didn't choose it beacuse the student strength is very low as compared to Karim City , also the course fees is higher in KMPM when compared to Karim City. I have asked peoples who have done BCA are placed somewhere, that should i take admission outisde Jharkhand for BCA or not? They told me that it would be better to focus on your skills and the college doesn't really matters that much, just see if the peers group is good or not. So i found out that Karim City has nice alumni, some seniors are currently pursuing MCA for NIT's so i choosed to pursue BCA in Karim City. The admission is simple you need to just apply on time because there are limited seats available. The eligibility is just 12th pass with 60% marks and Mathematics or computer as a subject in your 12th.
