Likes

faculties are supportive and helps in researches and projects
sports facilities are best and there are 2 grounds for sports.
infrastructure is very good and nit is trying to develop it.

Dislikes

some departments have shortage of faculties.
swimming work is under progress for more than 3 years.
climate changes suddenly which causes health issues.

Course Curriculum Overview

Very good academics and helpful for future. Curriculum is good and will be helpful for my future projects. And covers all subjects that will be important for jobs. Exams are conducted in 2 types . Mid sem + end sem.

many multinational companies like amazon,google , aws, cisco visits the campus for hiring. nitk students have their startup which are changepay ,prama inc ,trekko adventures ,DiME india and many more .

Placement Experience

placements are very good. it is the 2nd best nit for placements in mca. more than 80 companies visits every year and placement ration is approx 70%. highest package offered in mca is 55 lakh and lowest is 6.5 lakh.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fees is increasing 5 percentage. Per annum . For mca complete cost is 5.15. Lakh It covers all hostel and mess fees . National scholarship is also provided by college. And provide more than half amount.

engi and incident are fest of nitk in which incident is most popular and it is very famous over all nit's. engi is conducted in september and incident is conducted in march.there are many social group.

Hostel Facilities

there are triple sharing rooms for 1st year students and double ,single sharing for 2nd year ownwards. meal is provided 4 times a day which includes breakfast , lunch ,snacks, dinner. north indian food is also provided but taste and quality are not so good.

Hostel Fee: INR 80000 per year

Admission

Pass graduation with maths as one subject. Application form for entrance is available on the official website of NIMCET exam. Form feed 2500 rs Reservation for PWD Exam is conducted for 120 min and mode was online. 60 question for maths + 40 quanta + eng and computer

A mini heaven on earth called NITK

After GATE exam, I applied to almost all top NITs like NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, NIT Warangal, NIT Calicut etc during CCMT counselling . I had also applied in IIT Dhanbad in COAP counselling. I got IIT Dhanbad in 8th round. I spoke to my coaching Sir, he had advised me to go for top 3 NITs rather than IIT Dhanbad. Since these three NITs are well established and offer better placement opportunities as compared to IIT Dhanbad which is relatively a new IIT. One needs to qualify GATE exam to get a shot at taking admission in IITs/NITs. Once you qualify the GATE exam you can then look at specific colleges cutoff for admission. I got NIT Surathkal in special round 1 which was held after 3 regular rounds. I preferred NIT Surathkal as compared to other NITs since its considered in top 3 NITs and also it's near my home as compared to NIT Trichy....Read More

LIFE AT NITK

I had applied for other IITs & NITs with different branches like IIT GUWAHATI and IIT BHU ,IIT ROORKEE,NIT TRICHY as i wasn't able to clear the cutoff according to their requirements i got NITK SURATHKAL which was the best that i got i choosed the other colleges because of their higher placement records more average salary packages and the most OG thing is that i wanted the IITian tag but i had also got a seat allocated in IIT BHU in metallurgy but i didnt wanted to take it and finally i chose NITK SURAATHKAL because it near to my hometown Banglore and the weather is very good there it has a privatre beach along with a light house many places to visit around NITK SURATHKAL mainly a very big campus of aroung 300 acres and multiple number of sports opportunities it has 2 gym .
