Course Curriculum Overview

4

• It's the relevance of the curriculum that influenced me to chokse this course. • From the syllabus perspective it's far more better than those traditional CSE courses. • But since it is a newly introduced course the exposure might be lower than CS/IT branches. • 4 exams are held in one sem in each subject(i.e., quiz 1-2, mid sems and end sems). Difficulty is relatively much more higher than other branches.

Internships Opportunities

4

Our department has currently teamed up with Adrosonic and has MOU signed. Within the department they provide with many research opportunities if you want but it's unpaid. They even organise an yearly conference. Anyone can opt for internship opportunities and overall I would say it's above average. They provide enough assistance with the internships and placements. As for the project many from our department are into this some of the projects are drone surveillance automation which I was a part, disease recognition model etc.

Placement Experience

3

• Form 3rd year onwards they can apply for placements and for internship they can apply from 2nd year. • Almost all the major companies visit here and offers packages ranging from 3 LPA to 58 LPA. • Previous year's highest package was 58 LPA and average was 13 LPA. • Amost all the students who apply for placement gets placed in better or worse companies but if your GPA is below 6.5 they won't even allow you to sit in the placements. • I am planning to go for the placements as a Data Scientist.

Fees and Financial Aid

• For the first year it's 77,000(per sem) and 84,500(per sem) for the second year and keeps on increasing at this rate. • For the complete course it costs 9,65,000(excluding mess fee, includes hostel fee). Mess fee comes around 23,000 per sem. You can get the complete detail on BIT's website. • There's only one scholarship given by BIT which GP Birla only to some of the top scorers and for that you have to score more than 9.3 GPA. • The department provides some internship and research opportunities but I am busy in my own research fields.

Campus Life

4.5

• Almost every month there are some events happening in the campus, the biggest ones are BITOTSAV and PANTHEON. • Library has almost all the books and journals that you need. • Classroom has Projector, Smartboard(which they use very offently), A.C and obviously a board. • Whitin the campus there's a 25 acre of sports complex with all the major sports court. • There are clubs in almost every field like Finance, Drama, Entrepreneurship etc., and some of them are widely recognised like the Ehsaas club which has won many awards in colleges like IIT BOMBAY, IIT BHU, IIT KGP etc., and I am also a part of that club.

Hostel Facilities

2

• Previously they provided single room after 1st year but from this year (K22) they are not going to provide single room to anyone because they are increasing seats. • Meal quality and menu is above average and decided by the student body itself. • In terms of affordability and the facility they provide it is below average. Process is simple you can register for it along with your admission process. • Rooms and PGs are available in the locality but definitely not recommended since the campus is in a remote area.

Admission

• To be eligible for the you need to clear JEE in the year 2022 it was around 93 percentile(AIR) • You can apply for this college through JOSAA and CSAB counseling after appearing for JEE in CSAB round you have to pay 10000 in advance. • JEE MAINS conducted twice every year and difficulty is quite moderate. • Uptil until now due to COVID the admission processes were delayed but from now on it would be on time.

Actually biotechnology is an interdisciplinary program where we have to learn mostly the practical skills but there is no such equipment for doing a decent type of research work as they are not in a working condition. So first it has to be corrected and new equipment should have to buy for a making a good laboratory.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement in our college is held after the completion of all 6 semesters and there is very limited number of companies that come over to offer placement but off campus placements starts from 6 semester onwards. The companies visited were Vedanta for graduate trainee offering 1.40 - 4.65 LPA Tata Power for graduate trainee offering 1.90 - 3.69 LPA Only 40% students got placements. Many students didn't take part as the packages very low & even the perks were not so good. I planned to do higher studies in M.Sc. As the subject was very intriguing I preferred pursuing more knowledge.

As the session started late so we have less time to complete the syllabus but it will be fixed after one semester. Teachers don't go very fast in order to complete the syllabus they focus on that the students are understanding the lectures delivered. The frequency of exam is ok 2 in one semester. Difficulty of exam is moderate to hard

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am chosen this course because mathematics is my strongest subject from all of the others that's why I can choose mathematics. Faculty member of our college is very supportive but some of the teachers are very rude behaviour. Our college teachers are very disciplined about teaching and any project work. My class have 250 students. Every semester our college takes mid sem exam then a viva exam, assignment on every paper, group discussion, surprise test. The exam pattern was based on their classes. The exam pattern is moderate most times.
