Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum of Information Technology In Jadavpur University is very good. There are many subjects present in the curriculum which is highly necessary for our future. There is a subject named Technical English and soft skills which teaches us how to deal with a interviewer properly in a interview. According to me there is no improvement needed in the curriculum and the teaching method. According to me the exam difficulty is moderate.

Placement Experience

5

Placement in Jadavpur University is very good. Students become eligible for campus placement in and after 7th semester. Jadavpur University received 1,200 offers from top recruiters, including Google, Adobe, Amazon, IBM, Microsoft, HSBC, Samsung, City Bank, and others. The highest package offered at Jadavpur University (JU) in 2023 was INR 85 LPA, and 35 offers ranged from INR 45 LPA to INR 80 LPA. Over 100 offers ranged from INR 35 LPA to INR 45 LPA. 95.06% of students in the Information Technology department at Jadavpur University were placed in 2023.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure in Jadavpur University is very less as compared to other colleges. It charges only 2,400 Rs annually in engineering in every department except Information Technology. It charges 30,000 Rs annually in Information Technology. But this university provides a facility to get refud of their admission fees if their family annual income is less than 250,000 Rs. And there are also many scholarships available such as Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means scholarships which offer 60,000 Rs per year if the student have eligibility of annual family income of not more than 250,000 Rs and secure overall 60% in 10+2 boards exam.

Campus Life

5

I've had a great experience with campus life so far. I've been able to meet a lot of new people and make some really close friends. I've also been able to get involved in a lot of different clubs and activities, which has helped me to explore my interests and develop new skills. The infrastructure provided by the campus has been great as well. The classrooms are all well-equipped and the library has a wide selection of resources. Overall, I'm really happy with my experience with campus life.

Admission

We have to take admission through the counseling of wbjee competetive exam. According to our general merit rank(gmr) college is being alloted to us. To take admission in Jadavpur University, gmr has to be less than 1000 in general quota. The cut-off changes every year. The wbjee exam is taken in 2 intervals, 2 hours each. in 1st interval we have to take maths exam of 100 marks and in 2nd interval we have to take physics and chemistry exam of 50 marks each. Question difficulty is moderate. In my point of view the counseling process need improvement as it starts very late every year due to which the admissions process take too long time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Regarding examination the frequency is generally acceptable but the timing sometimes overlaps with project submission, creating unnecessary pressure. Exam duration is of 3hrs They should focus more on building projects which can be helpful for students Labs are modern and well equipped In terms of teaching methods a shift towards interactive learning, problem based assignments, hackathons and collaborative projects could make the learning experience more impactful. More emphasis on research and innovation at the undergraduate level could also encourage academic pursuits.
