Dislikes

Fees is a bit high, what can we say, private college after all.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculumn is made for the upcoming future. Focus on practical knowledge is encouraged, state of the art labs and excellent faculty always helps achieve that. Exams happen twice a sem, mid and end semester exams. Exams are easy to score and you can maintain a good CGPA if you study regularly.

Internships Opportunities

Alot of companies start visiting the college after 2nd year for internships, Amazon, JP Morgan, Microsoft, Bajaj, Mahindra, Black Rock, Deloitte, Nvedia etc. are some of the top companies. Avg. Stipend one can expect is 15,000/month.

Placement Experience

College provides a lot of campus internship and placement opportunities. There is a separate dept. for student placement training and in general career guidance. Apple, google, amazon, Jp Morgan, McKinsey etc. are some companies that visits the campus. Highest package for a Btech grad was 53lpa at Adobe.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fee increases by some percentage every year, but remains same throughout your course. The adminisitration isn't hungry for money and they are adjusting if you get late in paying fees due to valid reasons. The complete cost for B.Tech ECE (4 yr) will cost you arround 24 lacs , including hostel and mess food. Financial scholarship is available on merit and financial basis. There are no as such employment opportunities in campus.

Campus Life

There are a lot of student clubs and activities. college organizes alot of events and fests and helps student organise it. it helps students to connect with each other and learn more soft skills while away from the class room. Great library, food spots and sports facilities are pretty good. Campus life is great!

Hostel Facilities

There are 16 hostels, 10 boys and 6 girls. The rooms and well maintained and proper cleaningservices are provided without any charge. Laundary service is available twice a week. Mess food is excellent, I have never heard any complaint regarding food quality throughout my college life, Theres variety as well as taste. Hostels are maintained and security is also good.

Hostel Fee: INR 76000 per year

Admission

Admission process was pretty smooth, proper information was provided on the website and through email. Cut-off varies from year to year. There are several rounds of counselling , so you get a pretty good of chance of upgrading your branch.

Likes

supportive campus environment with the comfortable in the classess
faculty most faculty members are very much supportive and they guide the students in the right way only
events are there in the campus provided by the campus.

Dislikes

limited practical exposure is provided by the campus and also there should be more hand on international events
infrastructure is not that good , as they were should on the online it is dii
Placement cell provides opportunities but the stronger industry connections.

placements at my college are very very good, as everybody gets the chance to sit for the placements at the same level. we get the placement oportunities at the 6th semster also. in my brancg it is very good

A Vibrant Campus with good learning and great opportunities

Likes

good infrastructure , large libraries and practical labs
helpful and large opportunities in campus

Dislikes

class size can be large , it helps every child to interact
academic work is quite high , the schedule may feel hectic especially during examination

The curriculum is relevant and covers core cse subjects like programing DSA and DBMS . it provides good fundamental for placements and further studies , more practical projects and industry based teaching would improve it .

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Inside NITJ- Beyond the Brochure

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times
The campus explorer is also very nice according to me

Faculty is not soo well had a lit bit inconvenience

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

I applied to IGDTUW , VIT vellore and other colleges i got into both in VIT i got CS but it was too far away plus the placement percentage there is comparatively low and IGDTUW i didn't have mg prefered branch. i got selected to VIT vellore , but as i belong to punjab, and the level of VIT and TIET is the same, i preffered TIET i could even get a lower branch at NITJ (95%ile), but i did not want to compromise on my branch. admission process - you fill up an online form where you fill hostel preferances (like branch and college preferances in JoSAA) from thr options of hostels available for you (J, H, FRF and FRG for boys, I G E and PG for girls). you come here acc to time slot given to you acc to your percentile or boards percentage you are called into the main audi you get alloted a hostel there you fill up some forms, pay the mess fee, hostel fee and course fee in there go to hostel get your room keys and mess card issued then setup your room...Read More

I applied for VIT and SRM but didn't take admission due to poor quality of placements and peer group. I am from the General Outside Punjab quota.
