Remarks

In college, If you study well and attend classes, no need to worry about anything, but if its not the case, if you are little behind, management will have least care about you some people oppose supply exams even when 20 % of students in each bach are una

Entrance Preview

The exam was AIEEE that time, and now you have to take IIT JEE since it's not the same exam anymore, no meaning in telling the marks here, still, if my memory is good, I scored 167 out of 360. The rank was 23070. With that rank and state quota, the branches available for me was computer science, production engineering, biotechnology, chemical engineering the few not available was mechanical, electronics and electrical no interviews for joining other than some casual talks by some faculties, The regret I am having now is choosing production engineering rather than computer science because in the present scenario if a person is good in programming and all, its very easy for him to get job, which is not the case for production engineering.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

College curriculum is some what tough. Some faculties make it even tougher it all depends on which branch you are, in all the branches, computer science was the best I would say if you have some inclination towards programming and all you will enjoy life there, rest of the branches there is always scope for enjoyment extra curricular activities etc but you should make sure you get a company of people whose interests are similar to yours.

Internships Opportunities

There were very few companies for rest of CS branch, but for CS and EC companies like Amazon, Gold man Sachs, Aravind mills(few people got there through off campus telephonic interviews) and few other companies also packages were like 20k to 30k per month(total 2 months interns) the rest of the branch people find interns in various companies, iits and iisc from outside campus.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement is good for branches like computer science, mechanical, EEE and EC, the rest of the branches were having around 50% or more people not placed in production engineering, even though we were studying almost all things that the mechanical people study, when it comes to placement will face too much discrimination after 5 moths out of college I have 30 % of my classmates searching for a job but this may not be the situation after 4 years, the scenario can be completely different.

College Events

5

When it comes for extra curricular activities no other college can compete with NITC a rich tradition followed throu GH years, two big festivals, one technical festival Tathva which comes in the month of October which is the pride of 3rd years and a cultural festival Ragam which come in Feb or march which is organized by 4 the years is always a platform for them to show their organizational skills many people got their placement interview cleared by seeing how well they organized an event.

Fee Structure And Facilities

When I joined the average semester fees was 19000 per month but it has doubled now that means 38000 per semester the food and hostel expense will come around 3000 normally and if you are a person who will take lots of extras from mess, it will go to 4000 any other expense in college will be less than 2000 for a normal person.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarships my friends were availing was majorly minority scholarship or E grands for people from poor backgrounds for availing scholarships that person should belong to Kerala I guess.

Campus Life

4

Extra curricular activities, Sports, Robotics, technical club like (team unweired) all are abundantly available in the college, only thing is, you have to make yourself into those. Involving in some technical stuff will benefit you for placements also actually, companies used to come to college to take people who are active members of this technical clubs.

Hostel Facilities

4

First year I was having option to choose 2 messes which I will rate as average Initially the food quality was quite good and gradually it went down but you can expect a decent food compared to any other colleges.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is week up to date. But it can be improved by initiative from students because after you get a job you will be busy with your life but I don't think Alumni's will hesitate to help if an initiative from college reaches them.

Exam Structure

Exam days are hectic. No doubt about that two internal serieses and one final exam normally mark distribution is 20_20_10 internal marks and 50 end exam all together the result is out of 100 and 40 marks to pass a subject in the first year if you fail a s

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.
