Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose civil engineering because of my rank, I was eligible for it. Although I wanted electrical & communication. The course was well planned and barring a few professors, the rest were not at all interested in teaching but availing their salaries on time. I believe, except few subjects within the course, I was not at all prepared for the real life application. However, college ecosystem trained me well for the society and handling real life challenges. At the end, it is about how much you learn within college than really in the classes. And for that, DTU is a fablous place.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

College did not provide me much internship opportunities. But it was quite easy to get outside because of the college name. I did internship in HEICKO in soil testings and DMRC. It was lovely to be here.

Placement Experience

3

There were multiple companies coming in and out throughout the season. Although, IT related branches enjoyed much of it but few core branches enjoyed excellent placements as well. I planned for government services after degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Okay the annual fees was 75000 in the first year. Subsequently, it decreased to 68000 for next two years and in the final year, it was just 62000. However, post 2017, I have read that the fees have cross 1.5-2 lakh barrier which I believe is not jusitified. There was hostel fees of 25000 annually along with 3000 monthly mess bills. There were availability of student loans from SBI DCE branch, which was situated within the college. The process was very simlified. There were some scholarships as well. I did not opt to sit in any placements but it did provide excellent scholarships, especially for IT related branches. Within core, that it, civil and mechanical and electrical, it was better than expected.

Campus Life

5

There was a two semesters hence two annual exams, preceded by Mid semester exams. It was quite a nice period where we interacted with all fellows as well. College had cultural fest called engifest and technical fest called Encastrer. Both had significant footfalls and attracted college students from across Delhi-NCR. The clubs cultures within the college was also prominent. There was a club for everyone needs and desires. And more or less everybody was involved here or somewhere else. There is excellent sports infrastructure as well.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostels were quite spacious and clean. The mess food was very average but they had options of ice-creams and shakes which was the highlights during the summers. Mess food was more or less same. I also lived in rented accommodations, which was not cheap. But we had multiple options of the cheaper food delivery, usually, a house canteens sort of things. But it was much much better than college mess food.

Admission

The admission process started two years ago, when I entered in 11th class. The next two years were hectic and quite difficult, where I was learning and failing to juggle studies, homework, pressure and teenage hoods. Because of the CCE enacted by Congress, they had some provisions for also considering 12th percentage in the overall rank. Since I scored well in 12th, my rank became more or less favourable for the admission. Application form was available online on their website, fees was very nominal and dates was also quite long.

The placements are between average and good. There are total 300 companies that come for placements. The core companies usually come at around 8 LPA to 15 LPA, and th tech companies come at 15 LPA to 45LPA. The non tech companies come at 10 LPA to 25 LPA. Students become eligible for placements from 7th semester. The placements season lasts for 144 days. The students become eligible for internship form the end of 4th semester. My plans after getting the degree are two way. The short term plan is to do a job in core and in the long run, build my business.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester, students are eligible to sit in the placement drive. There are plenty of good companies that every student dreams of visiting our college. Almost the same companies visit NSUT, which goes to DTU or IIIT or IITs(Packages could be lower than IITs). Students can apply for any sort of company whether its a tech domain or nontech or core domain. The no. of core companies is quite less than dtu and IITs but the no. of tech companies is higher than dtu. The placement percentage has significantly reduced to 42% in past years. The average package is around 10 lpa.
