my college experience

i have interest in civil engineering and iit delhi has best civil department so choose to be here other than any other college. in curriculum ther are many practical labs and exams to prepare us for outside world and we also do some big projects with professors that make our learning good and also through these things we can think in what field we have to do further studies or do some more things. the curriculum is good but the only thing which can be changed is that for first year students common course should not be there other than this they should learn the alloted branch like my branch is civil but in first year i have to do coding. the frequency of exam is good enough and timings of exam is in evening so it is not difficult for us .

many companies came and give interships to students according to thier cgp and branch which are paid interships. companies are google , amazon, microsoft, McKinseyand boston consulting group . they offer roles like software devlopment, data analysis and research positions to consulting and mangement roles. these internships are of 3 to 6 monts duration. companies give challenging tasks like if a student is in tech he has to do software developmnet, machine learning, etc and if a student is in consulting then he has to do case study and client based projects.

from 3rd year end means 6th semester students can get pre placement offers. companies like microsoft,HCL TECNOLOGIES, accenture, jaguar land rover india limited, McKinsey & company, and many more. around 1300 offers were made and 260 ppo were give and there are 30 international offers. in 2023 highest package of iit delhi is 2.5 crper annum. and the average package is of about 20.5lpa. around 89% of students get placed in 2023. my plans after geting degree is to crack upsc or ssc like exam.

the yearly fees depends on category for ews and st,sc some relaxation is there so i submitted around 22400 per semester it includes all the fees except hostel fees and scolarship is also provided to needed students.

there are many fest like rendezvous and tryst. rendezous held in october and it is cultural fest whereas tryst held in january and it is tecnical fest. in the library there are many section according to books we can get cpouse books to study whereas we can also get books of competative exam and books to read like of hindi stories,novels etc. we have centralised ac classrooms with 3 projector screen and 2 green borads. it also has charging ports. and good furniture of seats to sit. in campus sports cultural is also very good we have a dedicated building to sports and in hostel also we have every sports facilities like badmitoon court , table tennis table , etc. we also have tournament of spoets between hostels we call it GC. for cultural thigs we have BRCA community in which all the clubs are there like dance , music, etc there is a different body called bsw which organize many things.

in room we have 3 beds with 3 cupboard and 2 fans provided. charging ports besides every bed and some wall side shelf. 3 study tables are also provided and proper lighting. the menu and the meal quality is decent and very good occasions lke gandhi jyanti, independence day ,etc they serve us special menu whuich is good as comparitivly regularly . registration of hostel is done on first day and on that day only our room are alloted and we met our roommates and the fees is affordable to middle class also.

i didn't aplly for any other college. Firsty i came to hostel which was alooted to me on email. then after registeration i get my room key which is was sharing with 2 other people .then after this on second day we do some formalities and submited the college fees and after that attended the orientation in which they told us about the college curriculum. the eligibility criteria for IIT delhi is to clear JEE ADVANCE paper with appropriate number according to cut-off. the cut-off for clearing exam is GEN-108 OBC-98 EWS-98 SC-54 ST 54.

the faculty members are very supporting and qualified. there are different types of courses i have four main courses MTL100,CML101,APL100 and MCP100.Other than these there are some practical courses also like CMP100 and MCP101. Exam held regularly and tutorial quizs also take place weekly there are two main exams first minor and second major marking schemes depends apon course cordinator sime times the course have relative grading and sometime it has absolute grading .in absolute grading the cgpa is fixed that if you get some number you will get the alloted cgpa and in relative if you get the same number but overall average of class is high so the cgpa you get will be low comparing to absolute but sometimes it will also increse your cgpa as if your number are above average then you will get more cgpa than absolute grading

we have a personal gym of college which is free of cost and also has paid gym . the night life of college is very good the hangout areas are sac, lawns, cafeterias,night mess and many cafes in campus only, we can enter hostel and campus at any time but we have to show our id cards for security reasons. in exam times library opens 24 hrs daily . campus is safe for roaming around at night as after every certain distance there is a gaurd post and the street light are also there so no fear of dark.
