I love to do more in Electronics field so i choose this branch It gives us the actual usage of the object to the real world with that we get to learn more about the actual practical work done by the objects 75% attendance should be removed as it is a very big burden on the students Sessional and lab evaluation occurs once or twice per semester(6 months) MST occurs approx 2 months and EST at 4th month

Google and Amazon comes here for internship also jp morgan comes here for internship Stipend may vary from person to person Minimum can be upto 10000 and go upto 1 lakh+ every month The internships last for 2-4 months

From 7th semester Microsoft, Google, Amazon, zomato, jp morgan, snapdragon, nvidia Highest Package of 90L abd average package of 14L Percentage is 100% for ece branch After degree, i will do job for some years and then do MBA

Fees and Financial Aid

After every year, tuition fees increase like 5-10% 25 lakhs are the minimum for my course (ECE) For Computer branches it will be approx(30Lakhs) There are more than 50 scholarship for the students on the basis of boards and jee marks Campus employment is really good Internship are good at Microsoft Google Amazon with stipends of 1 Lakh also

There are more than 50 fest or events held every week or every month There is a very big library in our Thapar campus where we can issue any book for unlimited time Classrooms are world class There are alot of sports in our campus There are more than 100 clubs or society run by the seniors

There is a single bed with table and almirahh with balcony Mess is good, get paneer 4 times in a week Hostel process is very easy we can do it on the spot round day abd we will get the Hostel accordingly

Admission

Eligibility of the course is 70% minimum in Boards PCM/PCB or 60%ile in jee mains In the official website of thapar at thapar.edu There is a December test where the leftover seats are filled where the exam pattern and the difficulty is similar to jee mains level At the spot round(final counselling) :- There is a huge traffic of students so it was difficult for us to get admission in a smooth way

Interview Experience

I faced Group Discussion as my evaluation in my subject(Professional Communication) The topic were Media Freedom, AI, Instagram etc Just fill the form from thapar.edu and after few days the cut off for every branch will be released Total 4 online rounds and 1 offline round(spot round) I prepared by my own

Likes

supportive campus environment with the comfortable in the classess
faculty most faculty members are very much supportive and they guide the students in the right way only
events are there in the campus provided by the campus.

Dislikes

limited practical exposure is provided by the campus and also there should be more hand on international events
infrastructure is not that good , as they were should on the online it is dii
Placement cell provides opportunities but the stronger industry connections.

Placement Experience:

placements at my college are very very good, as everybody gets the chance to sit for the placements at the same level. we get the placement oportunities at the 6th semster also. in my brancg it is very good

A Vibrant Campus with good learning and great opportunities

Likes

good infrastructure , large libraries and practical labs
helpful and large opportunities in campus

Dislikes

class size can be large , it helps every child to interact
academic work is quite high , the schedule may feel hectic especially during examination

The curriculum is relevant and covers core cse subjects like programing DSA and DBMS . it provides good fundamental for placements and further studies , more practical projects and industry based teaching would improve it .

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Inside NITJ- Beyond the Brochure

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times
The campus explorer is also very nice according to me

Faculty is not soo well had a lit bit inconvenience
Hostel mess food is not good at some time
Placement is decent and average as like other collage

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
