Course Curriculum Overview
It is a wonderful course curriculum in the sense that everything has been covered thoroughly to make the graduate eligible for NET exam. The fieldwork curriculum is also strong on paper but tends to fail when applied practically in most cases.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is subsidised but still a substantial amount of 23000 per year. The biggest expense however is the mess, which is compulsory to avail if one wants hostel facilities. This is an absurd rule since the quality of the mess is terrible.
Campus Life
The social aspects are quite good. While pre covid, it was said to be much more active, post covid has seen a variety of celebrations put forth by organisations, committees, clubs and departments. We just finished celebrating pongal yesterday.
Hostel Facilities
I have lived in three hosteld under three set ups. The first one was a shared dormitory in Cauvery Hostel, then a single sharing room in Madam Curie and finally a triple sharing room in Narmada. I find the hostels to be quite comfortable
Admission
The admission process included writing the CUET PG exam. I had applied to various colleges with my grades from Cuet and appeared on several merit lists according to my eligibility and ranking. I came in the third list and I didn't like the running all over a 800 acre campus without bus facilities part the most.
