- Many of the microscopes that are available are broken and hence cant be used
- Auditorium cannot fit all of the students at the same time
- Projectors present in lecture theatres are broken and outdated
Course Curriculum Overview
The course follows the CBME (Competency Based Medical Education) Curriculum by NMC (National Medical Council) which has a very practical approach towards learning. It is extremely up to date, holds multiple exam to test the students and prefers practical knowledge.
Internships Opportunities
Every student has to complete an one year internship program in different subjects before they get their MBBS degree. They can graduate only after they have completed this one year course after their 4.5 years MBBS degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fresher students can apply for JBNSTS Scholarship which is open to all students studying in West Bengal. However there is Swami Vivekananda scholarship which can be availed by repeaters with as much as two year study gap.
Campus Life
There are 3 Lecture theaters, 1 auditorium and multiple laboratories. The campus is situated very close to the hospital. There are regular cultural events which promote participation of the students. They take part in music, dance, drama and speeches.
Admission
I scored 607 marks and hence got 24867 AIR in my NEET UG Exams. This helped me secure the seat for MBBS in Midnapore Medical College and Hospital. The cutoff for general was around 603 marks for my college.
