Remarks

Its a good peripheral medical college. there is fun food and friends. there is enjoyment fun all around the year but the exams are really tough and during the finals each and every one put their maximum effort to secure a pass mark at least, which i guess ia a real challenge

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Every other day there are exams but it only helps to learn a lot. Mistakes during exams teach a lot, and its necessary to learn to prevent those mistakes because mistakes during practice may come out to be fatal.

Placement Experience

4

Yes, its a govt. college. we have compulsory internship after 4.5 yrs for 1 year the stipend is around 23k per month. the internship year is the only year where we learn how to work in the real life scenario and it must not be wasted.

College Events

4

saraswati puja republic day college foundation day independance day doctors day teachers day annual college fest batch picnics football tournament cricket tournament volleyball tournament badminton tournament

Fee Structure And Facilities

it is feasible not at al expensive 4500 rupees per sem total 9 sems in 4.5yrs 2000 rupees per annual exam 4 annual exams in 4.5 yrs 12 rupees per month hostel fees food expenses varies from 3000- 3500 rupees per month

Fees and Financial Aid

I do not know of any scholarship offered by the college other than those provided by the government to the minorities, there are no scholarships which i have availed yet maybe that i am not aware but as far as i know theres no scholarship offered by the college authority, not even heard of anything in the past 3.5 yrs

Campus Life

3

labs are workable. tbey are well equipped sports are always available and all varieties there is ground nearby the hostel for outdoor games like cricket football there is a court within the boys hostel used for badminton and volleyball there is a table tennis table carrom board.

Hostel Facilities

3

hostel rooms are just plain white washed rooms 2 celing fans 2 tubelights 2 shelves 2 beds 2 tables 2 chairs 2 book racks ( 2nd yr onwards, not in 1st yr) 2 people per room there is not much of a problm except for the fact that summers are really humid and there is tremendous amount if sweating, so the fans are not enough at times personal coolers or table fans can be used. people with hobby of cooking can use the induction to cook whatever the want. there are 2 canteens presently within the hostel

Alumni/Alumna

seniors are really helpful. each one of them. initially they are scaring but i guess thats what happens everywhere with freshies but as time passes they are the ones who help out with evrything invluding academics. they are the ones we depend upon more than professors at times to be very honest. we have food together, play games, they are just an extended family.

Admission

It was the zeal of becoming a doctor which helped me pursue this course. Its the West Bengal joint entrance examinations for medical which I had to crack and did it on the 2nd attempt. it comprises of physics chemistry and biology multiple choice questions of 10+2 level

Faculty

3

The faculty here varies according to the different departments. some are really helpful while others are helpful and strict.they have their own ways if teaching, some prefer the practical approach whereas some use videos and slides some even use the blackboards. they are the real torch bearers whom we can follow as role models

Course Curriculum Overview:

Medical field is a really good field in my opinion to serve humankind and learn about science of nature and life!the curriculum is a little overpaced and there are 19 subjects which are taught in a timespan of 4.5 years which is a bit hectic! There are 4 professional exams and 9 semesters which have pretty good difficulty and assess our skills and education. We have regular examinations in around 4-5 months each. Only thing id like to change in the curriculum is better assessment of many topics which are taught pretty well but aren't examined much leading us to waste our time in focussing on them.
