Remarks

The college is good only if you are also ready to give efforts. The college clubs are the main attractions and you will grow if you are ready to work hard. Because their are people who are in the most prestigious companies in the world and also there are people who are nowhere so depends on your extra efforts.

Entrance Preview

JEE main exam in which I scored 101 marks . I want to opt mechanical engineering and with my marks this was the best institute I can have.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course structure is set up by Panjab University as it is the parent affiliating University. The course is alright. You have to undergo training every year and that adds up to your skills. Being in the heart of Chandigarh ,you can have an access of all the goods of the same. Overall we can say that the course is ok and it is not a burden so you can do your own projects also with studies

Internships Opportunities

Internship os only provided to the 4th year students but not for other years. They have to do the training or internships on their own.

Placement Experience

3.5

For the mechanical branch, the placement is about 50%. Companies like sml esuzu, Mahindra tech Godrej etc visit here with the maximum package for mechanical engineering student around 6.5 lacs per annum. Average package is around 4.2 lacs if you got placed in them. Also, Infosys also recruit mechanical engineering student.

College Events

5

There is an annual techno culture fest named Apratim which usually lasts for 2 days The participation is good because the cultural societies of the college like Dramebaaz (dramatic), Beatles (dance), AOS( literature), PBN(Bhangra) and many more societies are very active in Chandigarh and North India. Also, many technical events happen hence one can participate in them also.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is one of the most affordable college in North India with yearly fees of around 63k. Hostel fees is also very less around 4 -5 k. So if you want to do the projects then you can invest in them also. There is also an ews category for children of poor families in which the yearly fees is very very less around 7-8 k yearly

Fees and Financial Aid

If you are among the top 3 performers you get 100%fee waiver and if in next 3 you get 50% scholarship

Campus Life

3

Campus life is very good and you get to access almost all the things within a range of 3-5 km. You also have Sukhna lake very close to the college which is one of the main attractions in Chandigarh. Also you have many cultural clubs which actually changes and enhances your lifestyles and friend circles.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are two hostels for boys and one for girls. Also, one hostel in construction and will be ready soon. The hostels of the boys are just ok with around 3-4 boys in a single room. In girls hostel, there are 1-3 girls in one room. The mess food is good and many day scholars also have their food their. Hostels have 24-hour wifi service and a small gym. Almost all the students get a hostel room. And PGs ranges from 4-6k per month.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni of the clubs are very helpful and they visit the college regularly. But for the other alumni they are not that much connected

Admission

It is through JAC Chandigarh . It is a portal for the admission in government engineering college in Chandigarh which include UIET, CCET, UIET Hoshiarpur and PU chemical engineering college. As soon as the portal is opened we have to apply for this with some fees which changes yearly. After the portal is closed their are 3 rounds and one special spot round to give the seats on the basis of merit.

Faculty

4

Yes, the faculty is very qualified and half of them are Ph.D. or at least mtech. Many are good and interactive but some are not so interactive and just ok types because the only thing matter to them is their subject. So, in short, the faculty is very qualified but teaching methods vary
