Remarks

Overall the college is awesome and if you feel to get a vibe of DU you will surely get it here. All the things that student demand is there. A big library that is famous. A college playground for cricket and other sports. Everything that you require is present here. It's the best life to live it here.

Entrance Preview

Admission in B.Sc(H) Zoology is done by 12th exams marks and they choose best of 3 subjects ie. Physics, Chemistry, And Biology.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

In 1st yr, you need to study 4 subjects, as you are new to the college so the subjects are easy. In the first yr only you need to select one Elective subject like Chemistry/Botany/Biochemistry. It gives you the opportunity to learn the other subjects also. In the 2nd yr you need to study 5 subjects and it is quite difficult. And in 3rd yr you need to study 4 subjects and there will be no Elective subject. You need to study only zoology in 3rd yr.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, every summer you will get a lot of opportunity for an internship. You will get the opportunity to serve in DU as well as JNU. The stipend is around 3000-5000 pm and it lasts for 1 month. Overall it's as a learning experience and you will learn how to handle the specific machines and equipment.

Placement Experience

2.5

There are no such placements for zoology students. You can be placed in general placement criteria. Mostly you will appear in M.Sc entrance examinations. So there is very less opportunity for placements but you can increase your basics for doing PhD or M.Sc

College Events

5

There are many events in which you can participate. VIBRATIONS is the annual festival in which each college society performs and other college society also performs. There is a star event in which big star of Bollywood comes. In spite of that, every department hosts its annual festival in which students can participate. There is a Gender fair for gender equality. There is tight security for all the events. As well as there are lectures of great personalities that happend all over the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure of my course was around 15000 per year. And its really very less. Beacuse if you compare it with other private college you eill get to know the difference. As you are getting the quality for everything and paying very less. So its a feasible fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are given to toppers as well as students that are financially weak. For financially weak students the college fees are less. And for toppers, they give a scholarship of 2000rs.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is brilliant. There are many spots where you can spend your free time and talk to your friends. There are more girls than boys. There are societies for painting, dancing, singing, drama, debate, entrepreneurs, where you can contribute your presence. Gender equality is the main motto in college and there is a student from every caste and race. You can look at northeast students and well as south indians also. Students from all religion are there. You can look for students coming in bikes and cars as well as in buses and e rickshaw.

Hostel Facilities

3

There is no such hostel of college for students but it is located in the reputed area and there are many PG which provide comfortable rooms with or without food. As you live close to college so its good for you to attend classes. Average rent for PG is 8000 with food and you will get hot water during winters and there is a timing for PG. Overall the quality of PG is very nice and the quality of food is also good. You won't have any problem with that.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors come after 1 yr of there graduation and tell us about the experience after college. They give helpful advice for career building and upcoming life.

Exam Structure

You will have mid sem internal exams of every subject with assignment and project. It will be of 25 marks collectively for each subject. A final examination of theory(75 marks) and practical (50 marks) is there. In practical, you will have viva for each practical class you attend. And a final viva just before the final practical exam.

Admission

First you need to register in DU-UG and then the University releases cut off for each course in each college. After cutoff you need to print the admission form from the DU website and then go to college for admission process with original documents. They are very helpful and there are student volunteers to help students. It will take 3hr for whole admission process and then you need to pay the fees.

Faculty

4

All the faculty is well qualified and they have done Ph.d. in zoology field. There will be a lot of file work to be done. Classes will run 6 days a week and you will attend theory and practical classes every day. Teachers are curious about the syllabus and will try to finish both theory and practicals as soon as possible. They have good knowledge about the syllabus and you can easily interact with them.

Indira Gandhi National Open University - [IGNOU], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Mathematics)

Placement Experience:

Placements in IGNOU are quite limited compared to regular universities. Since IGNOU is an open and distance learning university, it does not have a strong campus placement system like DU or private colleges. There is a Campus Placement Cell (CPC) that conducts job fairs and recruitment drives at some regional centers, but these are not very frequent and mostly depend on the location. Usually, students who are in their final year or have completed the course can apply, but there is no fixed semester rule since the system is flexible. The companies that visit are not very large in number and vary every year. Some private firms, NGOs, BPOs, insurance companies, and small IT firms have participated in the past. The roles are generally entry-level such as sales, customer support, data entry, insurance advisor, or junior IT support. There are very limited opportunities for core mathematics or research roles through placements. As far as packages are concerned, the average package is usually around ?2.5 LPA to ?4 LPA, but since IGNOU is an open university, it cannot be expected to have the same placement levels as regular colleges with full-time classes. Also, the percentage of students placed is very small because most IGNOU students are either working professionals, homemakers, or people preparing for competitive exams, so placements are not the main focus. Many students use the degree as a qualification while pursuing their own career path outside. I am currently in my 2nd year, so I do not have personal placement experience yet. The data I have mentioned here is based on internet sources and feedback from other IGNOU students. From what I have learned, placements exist but are very limited, and one should not rely only on them for career building.
