Likes

I liked the college because it's in one of my favourite place Kerala
Campus Life is also good, you can really find yourself in very good vibe
Courses from last year have been changed and from first year onwards you will be studying department wise.

Dislikes

College is dominated with malyalee students, obviously as it is their home state but you can also see huge telugu population.
Infrastructure is little old and campus is in hilly region.

Actually i thought of choosing cse branch but according to my jee main score i am not getting cse in any top nit , so I have thought of taking ece branch which is little closer to cse branch . If you daily follow classes and study well you can easily get good marks

Internships Opportunities

In software side you can get roles like web developer, data scientist , machine learning etc.In core side as my branch is ece ,you will be offered job in roles like anaolg , digital and embedded systems.

Placements in my college are okay , but this year it seems to be a big drop in placement percentage and even in average package compared to previous years , the situation is like how it used to be some 6-7 years back. From 7th semester you will be eligible for campus placements

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure depends on various factors like your category and economic background, if you are from sc/st or family annual income less than 1 lakh you will get 100% fee waiver.But you need to pay hostel and mess fees which will be around 6-7k per month .

Campus Life

There are two fests held annually held in the college.Tathva is tech fest which will be held in monsoon semester (Sep/Oct) and Ragam is annual cultural festival which is also south India's biggest cultural fest which will be held in Match/April.

Hostel Facilities

You will be provided with 1 chair and 1 table in hostel , according to your study of year , younwill be allocated rooms say for 1st year you will get 4 share room, whereas 2nd and 3rd years will get 2 share room and 4th years will get single share room.

Hostel Fee: INR 50000 per year

Admission

I have given jee mains exam in my 12 th standard , I got good percentile in the exam .So i participated in jossaa counseling to secure a seat in top nits . U can find the application in nta website , if you have reservation you can secure good college with even less score if you have home state quota your job becomes even easier.

from semister 6 students become eligible for campus placements and companies loke bank of america , google microsoft etc visited for campus placements and the highest package is about 54 lakhs where as average is 11 lakhs and about 98% of the students are placed

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Placement Experience:

As of what i spoke to the seniors they said that AI students got better placements compared to Core students and the average package is around 9LPA for CSE branches students and 7LPA overall for all the branches and there is CIR foundation classes where they teach us how to improve our communication skills and How to create a resume right from first year itself according to seniors it is very helpfull

An aspiring first year student’s review

Placement Experience:

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college.
