I choose information Technology because of the high package and because it is quite relevant in today's day of artificial intelligence .The faculty is of very high quality and the teaching methods are superb .Also the exams are conducted well on time and it is actually quite easy to pass .You are related according to your performance

Plenty of internship opportunities are available from 3rd year itself. Companies like texas instruments, Google offer internship to students and some internships are specifically open for female students to ensure equal participation in the workforce

Our college is specially renowned for placements . More than one students get placements will above 1 crore . The average placement is around 20 LPA and students can also apply for internships from 3rd year itself .

Fees and Financial Aid

JadavpurUniversity is known for its very high return of investment and very low fees which is only of 10000 rupees (30k for IT). Also you get access to all the government schemes and scholarships which is a great benefit to the economically handicapped including minimum hostel fees of only 25 rupees .

The classrooms are modern and well furnished .There are plenty of clubs for an interested student to try out .The sports facilities are also top notch . There are many students who are players of national level and they are part of the university .The books and journals that fill the library are also of wide variety and are quite useful

Admission

Admission to Jadavpur University is through an examination called WBJEE . It is an engineering examination for admission in engineering colleges in West Bengal. The exam is conducted yearly and the dates are released well before time and there are a lot of benefits for reserved category candidates .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well developed and the major areas of learning are adequately addressed. It has prepared students for practice as well as for further education. I wanted to point at such aspects of teaching design that need to be developed : offerings of practical projects and a greater focus on interactive teaching methods. Jadavpur University is one of the most renowned universities in India. I've applied in JNU but couldn't make it there as I didn't have enough preperation. Jadavpur University a dream come true for a lower middle class student

After getting my WBJEE rank my first college allotted was Heritage Institute of Technology. After that I got Kalyani Government Engineering College and University of Calcutta respectively. But Jadavpur University was an obvious choice for me when I got admission into it during its decentralized counselling. In heritage I got Computer Science and Engineering where as in Kalyani I got electrical engineering and in University of Calcutta I got information technology. But all of this colleges placement is not compable with Jadavpur University Civil Engineering at all. Jadavpur University in terms of fees and placement is way ahead then any other colleges that comes under WBJEE. You have to score at least under 3000 rank to get your dream college that is Jadavpur University....Read More

A Brief Review of Jadavpur University , Kolkata

I tried to get admission to other colleges like IITs, NITs, BITS etc. I secured a rank of about 14k in JEE Advanced and 7k in JEE Mains but was not getting a suitable college+branch combination in the IITs and NITs. I secured a rank of 855 in WBJEE and easily got admission in the electrical department at JU. JU ranks 12 in engineering , 9 in universities and 17 in overall category as of NIRF 2024. It is also very good for placements and research opportunities .Also , fee structure is quite less and it is near my house , so was very suitable for me . The admission process was also a smooth one . We has to report at JU with necessary documents and we got a provisonal admission form . After successful fee payment , i got admitted in the electrical department of JU. Most students prefer the CSE or IT department due the high packages. The cutoff of CSE is 150 , IT is 400 , EE 1100 rank as of 2023 in JU based on WBJEE exam . So , it is quite competitive to get admission here....Read More
