Course Curriculum Overview

3

I've decided to be in ECE or CSE, but because of my performance in JEE, I've got this as my best option. The faculty student ration is maybe 1:60 . Because the ece total strength in my year is 196 which was divided into four classes, and every class is given seperate faculty. The teaching is not that great but if we concentrate in our class it's okay. But all the faculty are PHDs from different colleges. We have a mid semester and en semester with two months gap for each. Passing is easy if we know basics .

Internships Opportunities

4

Core companies Texas instruments Qualcom Software companies American express Oracle etc Management and consultancy P&G. Etc We need to be strong in any coding language and have to know DSA to get a good intern and also a good placement generally

Placement Experience

4.5

Intern interviews and exams generally happen during end of 4th and start of 5th semester, the selected students can get a pre placement offer I they are worthy. Or the placements generally happen during 7th and 8th sem. There are so many core and software companies visited our campus like Texas instruments, Qualcomm, samsung, Bosch...and Microsoft, Google, Intel etc. Highest package till now is 63lpa, overall average is around 13lpa. And almost 93% of students gets placed. I want to get into m.tech

Fees and Financial Aid

Per semester tution fees is 75000, hostel and mess fees is 33000. But for students with less than 1 lakh family income, they have a special fee concession. Also there are various scholarships available, some government and some private. I've received reliance foundation scholarship and it provides 50000 per annum. I've received it after I qualified in a test.

Campus Life

4

Ragam , a cultural fest held in month of March and Tathva, techno fest held in October. The curriculum related books are all available but of the older versions, there are some journals which are also out of date. Some other books like novels and self help books. Class room is all digital also with a black board. And it's all microphoned with speakers. There is scope for every sport and many facilities for practicing. There are technical and cultural clubs in our campus and members are alloted through multiple rounds of indications. And also there are branch associations to take care of student affairs.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

In first year a room for four is given and from second year a room for 2 and we can choose the room mate and basic facilities like beds and tables are provided. Meals are not that good for the non home state students. There is a seperate NITC hostel app for all the mess and hostel duties, bill payments and others.

Admission

To get admission into any NIT we first have to clear the JEE Main examination. The result will first be announced interms of percentile because it's conducted over slots and difficult of the paper varies. This exam will be conducted multiple times and best percentile will be given a rank and then we'll have a chance to get admission through Josaa councelling. There are reservation benefits for different castes and also special reservation for physically disabled people and also super numery seats reserved for ladies. Also 50% of seats are reserved for home state students only for NITs. I think the admission process is smooth. The queries also are cleared very fast. Improvements that I want to see are permission to edit the information given at the time of registration, also the websites should become a bit fast especially at the time of results .

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.
