Pros. and cons. Of Kalyani University

The course curriculum was great. Firstly, I choose MA in English literature for by deep passion about literature. And, because of theke sufficient faculty teacher, I choose to get admission in Kalyani University. There were total 7 professor in our department. Among them, there were 3 senior professor and 4 associate professor. Each of them possessed doctorate degree except two. the MA course comprises of four semester. There was a gap of 6 months in between each semester. It was a great choice to get admission in this University. But, the pass ratio is not so great. Every year a maximum 20% student succeeded to achieve MA certificate. The remaining 80% fail to achieve final marksheet. Thus, it was a difficult task to pass in the MA in English clue.

Mainly, from fourth semester, students become eligible for campus placement. A good many of students get chance in some of the well known multi national company. Normally, students get jobs in Tata, Infosys, Wipro, Reliance Pvt. Ltd. Etc. Normally, Infosys , Tata or Wipro provides an average 3.5 Lpa. and highest 4.5 Lpa. But, the percentage of students getting placement is very low. Every year, a maximum 50% students get the chance in these company. Thus, I think, the placement cell should be more improved and well advanced.

To get admission in MA in English literature in University Of Kalyani, I had to pay 4000 in the first semester. There was to additional fees in the remaining semester. But, I had to pay 500 as an examination fees in the third semester. As, it was a government sponsored University, Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means scholarship was available for the student. The placement cell is not so advanced. There was not available any extra financial assistance in the University. Of course Junior research fellowship is available for PHD course. But, there was no fellowship for MA course.

My life in Kalyani University is a memorable moment of my life. Every year, senior students and teachers arrange a reunion and welcome ceremony for the new comers. Basically, the ceremony happens in the month of January or February. There was a central library in the University. It possesses thousands of English Literature. Every year, the department of English publish a book which comprises various writings, photos and drawings of the students. The English department arranges a program of various art and culture in the University campus. Thus, it was a great experience for me in Kalyani University.

My admission process of MA in English literature in Kalyani University was great. I got to know about the application form from a senior student. Then, I checked the university website. After downloading the admission brochure I checked all the important dates and admission fees of the course. My admission fees was about 4000 for MA in English literature. Yes, entrance test is must to get admission in this University. But, I didn't had to sit for entrance examination because of the spread of Nobel corona virus. Thus, after applying for the course, I waited for some days. Then, the merit list was published and, one by lner the admission list got published. And, I got the chance to get admission in Kalyani University. Though many of the students got reservation benifits, I did not get any. I belong to a general caste. The overall admission process was great. But , the process took a lot of time. If the process would not be so lengthier, I would rate it 9 out of 10. I rate the process 7.
