Course Curriculum Overview
My course here is Manufacturing Sciences and Engineering which comes under Mechanical Department so it is a well designed course here we are additionally taught robotics and Machine learning which is a major future demand. Here faculties are very supportive and have done Phd from renowned Foreign Institutions like Harvard ,MIT etc. We give semester wise exams with midsems followed by endsemester examination which is not quite difficult as compared to the entrance exam we gave to get into the college.
Internships Opportunities
We do get a lot of internship opputunities here as college calls big companies like Google,Microsoft and Oracle to take skilled students to make them industry fit and give some stipent varying from 20k/month to 3L/month which is remarkable thing.
Placement Experience
Placements here are at a top notch so no need to worry about placements here but this year was bad for global markets so there we saw a major decline especially for this year but onn average 90% students get placed on placement drive with an average package of 18Lpa
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure at IT's are well managed we dont get burden to take Education loans as we do in private engineering colleges and a general candidate can get his B.Tech degree at a fee of 12 lakh for four enjoyable years also parents feel safe to send their children to this prestigious institute to get better future job oppurtunities and to be skillful. SBI provides us with special education loans for students at a minimal rate of interest which can be paid off in a duration of 15 years.
Campus Life
The life at IIT is far beyond anyone's imagination you get to explore many new things which no one expects to get at an IIT . All the required books to do a course inside college are easily avialable in Library. Classrooms are well equipped with smart boards ,speakers ,mic,Wifi etc. Sports at IIT kharagpur is fantastic you could play any sport of your choice. B-club,180-DC
Hostel Facilities
The hostel isalso well equpped with WIFI and LAN connections to every room in the college The meal at IIT is the worst part of it especially in my hall LBS there is no seperate section for veg and non veg students which is a major setback for Jain students like me.
Admission
The admission process here was very smartly oriented with all the verifications done beforehand in online portal at the end we had to come to the college to get physical verification done . So for getting admitted to IIT Kharagpur I gave JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) which is one of the toughest exams currently in India. After UPSC; JEE ADV is considered to be the second toughest entrance to clear in India out of 10-12 lakh candidates registering for the exam only few 15000 manage it to make into IIT's here cutoff is a tedious thing as there is neck to neck competition in the exam. I don't want any improvement in the admission process of college.
