Likes

Professors are very friendly and supportive too.
Extra curricular activities are happening in a regular basis.
Professors are teaching not only the things in the books but also the things outside the books.

Dislikes

Examinations should be more practical than theoretical.
Examinations should be completed within the right time and also University should give enough time to cover the syllabus properly.

I have a good knowledge about this stream so I wanted to improve my knowledge and get admission to this course. There is 8 professors in the commerce department and 98 students. They all are very good in teaching amd also well qualified. It has a semester based exam system. The exams are conducted 6 monthly and it is not that difficult if you attend classes regularly and take notes of the lectures.

Class Size: 98Course Fees: INR 1280 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

It is a government sponsored college, so it a affordable fees and the cost of study is quite cheap so anyone can afford this. If you can get a good marks you can get scholarships. There is a governmental scholarship called SVMCM and also there is scholarships for the students with reserved castes.

Campus Life

There is a annual fest called 'ODDESEY' is conducted every year at the month of January. Students of the college and also some reputed celebrities are invited too. So many books are available in the college library. And also the exam questions of previous years are also available in the library. Professors and also our principal encouraged us for extra curricular activities like playing chess, carrom, table tennis and many more. Also a sports day is conducted in January too.

Admission

You have to pass the 12th exam from any reputed education board in India with a good marks in Commerce especially in Accountancy. To find the application form you have to go through the notice board of the Chandernagore College website at the time of admission. There is no application fees and you can apply from the website directly. There's a reservation for the SC, ST and OBC caste. The names of the students who are from these casts are released differently in the merit list.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

Placement Experience:

At our college placements are good and many core companies or finance and IT are here for placements and intenrships as well. Average placements from what I have checked is around 4-5 lakhs per year for B.Com (Hons) students.

SAJC - From The Eye of a Student.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is of course outdated. Teaching methods are old. No case studies, competitions or project of any sort is there in the curriculum. Although a project of 100 marks is there in the final sem, but I don't think that's enough. There is no practicality in the curriculum and usability in career. The syllabus really needs an uplifment.
