- It becomes humid during Summers so some people might not like it.
- Unavailability of an airport in Jamshedpur causes inconvenience.
- Few of the hostel room are small, so its not fair for the students living in them , but it hardly matters
Course Curriculum Overview
HRM from XLRI is considered as the best in the Asia Pacific. I wanted to do HRM, so this was the dream come true for me. Faculty student ratio is about 1:25. Faculties are well qualified and sometimes best in India in their domain. Most of the teaching is case based method. XLRI follow continuous and comprehensive evaluation. It is not very difficult to pass but some students get failed in some subjects.
Internships Opportunities
I got an offer from Tata Steel for my summer internship. Others details are classified but average stipend of the college is around 1.5LPM. I am yet to go for an internship but HR students from XLRI are offered all kind of role ranging from consultancy to IR.
Placement Experience
SIPs happen in first sem. And final placement starts in the month of December. About 150 companies visit the college and placement is more than 100%. Highest package went around 1.1cr for (International) and 70L for domestic. Average package stoof around 32.7LPA. I am looking forward for an IR role.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee is hiked as per the standard followed everywhere else and cost of study is around 3200000 for two years including everything. There are a lot of scholarship opportunities in the campus raging upto 5L per year.
Campus Life
We have annual Management and Sports fest in the month of November , called Ensemble Valhalla. While we have another marketting fest known as Maxi in the month of January. Both the bests boasts of a variety of competitions and top perfomers from the industry. Library is fully equipped with all the books you will ever need. It also have subscription of all the world class Journals. All the classroom are equipped to teach digitally as well as traditionally with comfortable seating and ergonomics. College has two gymnasium, a Futsal court, one indoor badminton court, two basket ball, two tennins one vollyball court. TT facilities are there in the sports complex as well as at hostel. A lot of club and activities ensured smooth and active life of students in the campus
Hostel Facilities
The oldest hostel different size of rooms which is not good for time being. But about 90% of the rooms are of good size and ventilation. Mess menu is decided by the students and worth every penny. Hostel is compulsory for the students. Registration happens along with the admission.
Admission
Any full time graduate can apply. Application forms are generally released in mid September to October with an application fees of 2200/-. Application closed by first week of December. There is no reservation in seats at XLRI. However, calls are given on lower cutoffs for reserved category.
