What Students Say
Likes
- Focus on holistic development along with acads
- Good culture and friendly professors having good industry connect
- Placement support is very nice and good companies visit the campus
Dislikes
- Connectivity is an issue, reaching Jamshedpur isn't that easy
- Entry time in college is 11 PM and reaching later leads to fines so admin is a bit strict
Course Curriculum Overview
- The curriculum is outdated, no doubt. But that is the case with all the MBA colleges. The cases taught are old and outdated. - However, a lot of faculty members also tell you how to leverage tech etc in their subjects which makes it interesting to sit in classes.
Internships Opportunities
- Internships are facilitated by the Placement Committee of the college itself - Usually all the top recruiters who come for plaements also come for Internships and offer PPOs - Consulting firms come for front end roles (MBBKA), FMCGs come for Sales and Marketing roles and HR roles also, Tech firms come from Product roles and a lot of conglomerates come for Genman roles - Average stipend is about 1,50,000 per month
Placement Experience
- The placements are decent since the college has a good rapport in the corporate market - Bad market does affect the placements, but the college ensures that everyone has at least one offer before leaving the campus, and hence 100% placements happen always. - Highest packages go up to crores, however, the fixed and variable components differ. - Top recruiters are MBBAK consulting firms (all front end roles), JPMC IB, HUL, P&G, Tata Steel, Amazon, Microsoft, Walmart, Marico, HCL, Renew Power, DB, Vedanta, Castrol, NPCI etc etc
Fees and Financial Aid
- Fee structure is at par with other colleges, net net you end up spending around 30-32 lakhs in two years, including your personal expenses - A lot of scholariships are available, but majority of them look at your economic background along with other factors like Acads, extra curriculars etc. - Employment opportunities provided by the campus are decent and at par with other top business schools. Majorly marketing and FMCG roles come, along with top tier consulting firms, Product management roles and a few finance roles as well.
Campus Life
- Campus life is very good. There are almost all facilities on the campus so going out isn't needed for essentials - Zomato, Swiggy are easily available - There are night food outlets as well which make it simpler for the campus students to satisfy their cravings. - There are a lot of clubs in the campus like consulting club, finance club, investment fund, social work related clubs etc. - A lot of parties are held on the campus at different times like when the batches get placed, when new students come in etc. - The seniors are very approachable and open to help! - Hostels are very clean - Usually all the festivals, be it Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, Holi, Pongal, Onam, etc are celebrated with full festivities!
Hostel Facilities
- Hostels are very clean - The rooms are decent sized and single occupancy - Mess is in the hostel only - Student hostels also have Gymnasium facilities, free for students - The staff is very friendly and safety wise as well, everything is safe in your rooms, you don't need to lock them all the times! - Washrooms are also very clean!
Admission
- You have to appear for XAT exam and score a decent percentile, usually above 95%ile to get a call. However, higher the %ile, higher the chances of converting that into a final offer. - Post the exam and receiving of call, you sit for the GDPI process. It starts off with a GD and then a PI. - PI is usually based on 3 things: you, your acads, your experience (workex/internships).
Faculty
- The faculty is highly qualified, however, sometimes their style of teaching might not be the best - They have decent industry contacts which makes it easier for students to secure placements during tough times - The faculty residences are also in the campus itself and during days like Diwali when students miss their homes, the faculty is more than happy to welcome them to their houses for Pujas and celebrations - A lot of faculty is approachable at all times and you can even go to their houses and grab a cup of tea with them if you wish to!
Interview Experience
- XAT was the written test having 3 sections: English, Decision Making, and Quants and Data Interpretation - Usually 50% of the marks in all sections guarantee you a good 98+ %ile - GD topics are usually generic and simple in nature. In my case there was no GD due to COVID year - PI is again, based on you, about you, your background, your acads and some questions pertaining to what you studied in your UG and then on your experience.
