NSEC Through the Eyes of a Fresher

I choose the CSBS course because of my interest in both computer science and management aspect. The faculty members of the Basic Engineering Sciences department are decent enough. The faculty members are adequately qualified for their positions. The college follows a semester system. End-semester exams are organised after 6 months. Internal exams are also conducted. The exams are not too difficult some preparation is sufficient enough to pass.

The total fee for 4 years of BTech degree is 625000. The admission fee is 96500 which is also the 1st semester fee. The 2nd-semester fee is 81500. The 3rd-semester fee is 73500. The 4th-semester fee is 73500. The 5th-semester fee is 74500. The 6th-semester fee is 74500. The 7th-semester fee is 75500. The 8th-semester fee is 75500. The fee structure is for students who were admitted during 2023. The fee structure for the future is subject to change. Students can apply for various government and private scholarships. West Bengal domicile students can apply for the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship (SVMCM).

The college has many student clubs. The official tech club Phoniex, the cultural club Eco Cultural Club, the GNX Club focused on Linux, the Google Developer Students Club (GDSC), the photography club Lensified, the Entrepreneurship club ED Cell, the Sports Club and many more. The clubs host many cultural and technical fests. The flagship event hosted by the Phoenix Club is Avenir which is the college's main tech and annual fest. The Eco Cultural Club hosts Mesmerizer the annual cultural fest of the college. Also, each department has its respective department fest which is hosted by them. The sports club hosts many sporting events like Zest. Throughout the year many events and fests are organised on college campuses. The college library has sufficient books and study materials ranging on various topics. You can also make use of the college's study room for study purposes.

The admission process is conducted by The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board through the exam WBJEE. The exam is mainly for admission into the BTech course. The application form for the 2024 session has already been released and the date of examination is 28th April 2024. The application form can be found on the website of WBJEE and the application fee is 1000 RS. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD category students and those who fall under the Defense quota are provided with Reservations. Only domiciles of West Bengal are eligible for reservation criteria. The Counselling process needs to have 3 rounds and students should retain their previous seats throughout the whole process.
